Item Allocation Specifics

"
A frequently requested change is a "Map to Maker" system. Traditionally, players who want to play Maps with strangers run the risk of having the Map drops grabbed by people who didn't pay the cost to create the area. In 0.11.0, white Maps allocate to the creator of the Map for all types of parties. This will mean that it's safer allow friends or strangers into an area that you have spent a Map or currency on. Magic/Rare/Unique maps follow the normal loot allocation rules so it's still possible to find Maps if you are playing in someone else's area.

Yes, I'm gonna play again :P

We need one more option, for all maps regardless of rarity to be allocated to the map maker.

But seriously, from what I understand, this means that if a white map drops in a group game then it is allocated to the maker but if a blue, yellow, or unique map drops it follows the regular allocation system? That just doesn't make sense to me. Map to maker should just mean map to maker. Correct me if I am understanding this wrong though.

We initially had it as "All Maps to Maker" but that took away all hope of getting Maps for the other players. Most of the Maps go to the maker under the new system.

you mean the hope to steal a map chris? this all item alocation sounds great but this part with magic and rare maps not to maker is crap ,you can make unique maps not to maker, because that counts as unique item, but magic and rare should go to maker

I am impressed. Thank you GGG. I will start playing again as soon as the "melee patch" hits. You've done great by me by doing this, I can finally party with strangers and not have a bad experience :)
Sounds great.

Still waiting on survivability changes.

It's Saturday. Wait for Monday.

Absolutely useless to solo's of course and it ignores and doesn't fix the useless dropping of too many completely crap items, too few orbs, and ridiculously low vendor exchange rates. Group looting is a problem but not nearly as huge a problem as any of the other things which actually deserve some attention and apparently is getting none.
We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.
great news! now all the ninja QQ will stop :)
but why is there no real map to maker option?
only white maps to maker does not seem reasonable

if people didnt like challenge, then hardcore wouldnt be popular, nor would the races considering if you die you wasted so many hours (or minutes for hour races) to fail.

That's not a fair comparison because hardcore has a ladder system as a reward which let's you check your position relative to other players and so do the races with the additional reward of items for, 'x' amount of points.

What's the reward for playing FFA or timer? Keep in mind these systems will objectively be less efficient than Permanent Allocation which means to keep up with other players using permanent, you will have to use permanent.

a ladder system as a reward, funny comparison. its designed to test themselves, which is also the point of FFA, testing yourself against other players in the group, thanks for proving my point of competitiveness. and again efficiency has nothing to do with why people would, or would not use a system.

its based on preference, not everyone does the Safety Dance (old song ftw). and the reward for playing such a mode with fast reflexes is obviously, the loot they gain? competition, im not saying A LOT will use, but it all has to do with your play style.

also fyi with some complaining about the rewards for partying anyway, there already is. you receive an exp boost when you are in range of other players (full zoomed out screen range if i recall correctly) as well as better drop chance in the first place because of more players (also affected by being in range) it was in an old update somewhere, message and ask GGG if your skeptical.
