so if my calculations are correct we got about another month of "game is dead\dying posts" before the last of the noobs leave and we can have our game back.

You can almost set your watch to these cycles forums go through with a new game.

1. first they all love it
2. then they play long enough to see some issues but are still mostly happy but you will start to see more negative threads,
3.now its been a couple months most of the playerbase is at what they like to call "end game". a lot of balance issues are coming up, they ask for fixes, about a month goes by some things are getting fixed some problems still exist but its not enough so now you see the classic "devs aren't listening threads and countless "I quit" threads.
4. devs respond to these accusations try to make these impatient children understand things don't happen instantaneously in the real world and some problems are more difficult then they think.
5.now you see "the game is dying\dead" threads mostly quote something stupid like xfire or some other random source. statistic nerds argue endlessly about whether this can be taken seriously.
6. finally most of the crybabies, fad of the months players have left and the community and the game can get back to normal and those that like the game enjoy it for many years to come!

Typical fanboy response with immature flaming and name calling...you are part of the problem with this community. Listen, don't get so defensive man ..whats happening here is a real problem, nobody is bashing this game...i love this game too but we ALL notice this drop in playerbase..it sucks and we hate it and we hope the situation gets better and that we get tons of new people in time..no need to call others noobs, children,crybabies...etc ..thats so immature...shame on you.

natural selection?

no?

oh well, continue on!
Some of you pro players are so dumb I'm getting buthurt. You need all those casuals to sell them the mid quality crap you get from maps to get mats to roll better maps. Without the so called noobs, the market will be dead. I already see the same guys trying to sell the same overpriced crap for days. All norace leagues including hardcore will be dead rly fast without casuals supplying exalted, chaos, alchemy, regrets etc. Try to selffund craft map rolls. I blew many orbs on lvl 72-74 maps today and I could not sell anything from the maps, even though i found good items. That is the future of default and hc. Races will be fine but not many people have time for those. Certainly not me.

Regardless, this seems pretty accurate.

I know personally that myself and several other friends have stopped playing for now for similar reasons that I took breaks during closed beta. The game is feeling a bit stagnant and needs some major balance changes in many regards. I still like the game but I don't want to burn myself completely out during the beta as it is pretty obvious there is still quite a long way to go.

The 'I quit' threads are not really necessary. Give your feedback on the current state of the game and check back in a few months to see if you want to give it another round of testing.

The game is still only in beta, and has many issues. Lots of players that left due to whatever reason are not leaving because the game is bad, or broken. They are leaving because the game is still in beta and know updates will come out that change/fix a lot of the issues that exist now.

I stop playing all the time. I played for a month in CB, then stopped. I came back after OB, played for a month and stopped. Now after quite a few patches I am back to try it again and see where development has gotten. Soon I will stop playing again.. Not because I hate the direction the game has gone, not because the game is broken or has balance issues, but because I know that creating a game is an ever evolving process, and we are only here to test it so the devs can work out the issues with actual data.

If you like the game, and what it has to offer, but you don't like the current state it is in. Then stop playing and come back later. If you want massive amounts of players for a niche market game, then come back after official release for the first 3 - 6 months. There will be lots of players then, I guarantee it.
I don't know, spent 5h mapping today, literally got NOTHING. Not even a damn chaos.

I officially hate this game now, so frustrated.

Definitelly need a break.
