Dragon's Immortal Tank (Updated for 1.2)

Hi Dragon, I would like to ask if you know if "The Covenant" is actually available in OS or not?

I've searched shops and asked around but no one seems to have one :(

Also, I've skipped all the shield passives to go for life on OS while I dual wield cleave to level as it's simply faster (especially if you have the gear to support surviving without a shield).

I think merciless is when I'll switch since that -60 res is rough.

[edit] - Addon question: Does the unique Malachai's Simula Copper Mask (also has blood magic as a property) also work?

I haven't actually seen one yet, but I see ppl spamming trade looking for both bm pieces. And yes, malachais works too.

I wanted to level dual wield, and my first few attempts I did just that. But I have no gear or currency in OS so I quickly got destroyed. Now I finally have pendarus and stone of laz and things are going quite well. I have picked up all the resist all nodes and many of the hp nodes first. Feeling pretty good about this try :P

No, I wouldn't. Not that I don't have confidence in the build. It is more that new players have a lot to learn about the game and it is less frustrating for them if they roll a ranged char. It is also a great idea to roll a char that can be converted into a farming char later on.

I love this build, but for a brand new player, you can do better.

So you decided to stick with OS and give it a try, eh? HC can be frustrating /w melee toons since in default league you can let your health drop to 50% and not even worry about it...in HC, the first alarm bell (for me) goes off when I lose 25% of my health...if i lose 50% I am running haha. If I go below 30% I am running as fast as I can and throwing open a portal!

Are you leveling /w dual wield Cleave? I am running Cleave on my OS Mara so far, going to switch to Infernal+Splash when I hit mid-40's I think...only lose a bit of range with IB.

I just switched to IB from cleave. I am level 40ish. There was no loss in aoe range. The new buff to splashes radius is simply amazing! My first attempts at OS I ran dual wield, but I finally got my hands on so this time I am playing it super safe and went 1h/shield the whole way.

I don't have that alarm in my head for HC. I get to half health and think nothing of it. It is why I am having a heck of time in OS. Trying to unlearn habits overnight is extremely hard. I think this mara will be my last attempt tho. I am really starting to miss my geared toons ;P

For those using Bringer of Rain, do you think that it's worth using Aurora Aegis? Since the mobs are blind pretty much all of the time so they're often missing, making the 4% shield recharge on block proc less.

Wondering if it would make more sense to just use a different shield, like a Daresso's for extra dps or a lioneye remorse.

Hi john,
I am using BoR and blind does not affect me cause i am using Unweavering stance. I know blind does not worth if u don't have any % evasion chance but the main reason i use BoR is for the extra block rate and to save some currency skipping the 6L.
With cap block (75%) and 47% spell block u can go to pee, smoke, go back to the toon i middle of the lunaris and see he is there making some lols with the mobs.
that's why i use it, i don't care about blind :P

Anyways u can test by yourself if u feel better with other type of shield, it's just about people preferences.

Just checking out the build and I must say this is the most interesting build I've seen recently. I've never used 1h/shield before, and was wondering if tempest shield is worth it. It would seem getting passive/alpha howl and running Det/Pur/Vit/Hat is safer no?
