Dragon's Immortal Tank (Updated for 1.2)

Hey, Dragon,

I was looking over the Dominatrix witch guide (http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/356123) and it got me thinking. How do you think Dominating Blow would work with this setup as a primary skill? Basically leaving everything the same but swapping DB for IB. You don't get the damage from the corpse explosions, but you get an army of mobs guaranteed to be on level with the area you're in and with a physical damage buff from DB. You can stay in the fray, as tanky as you already are, and the mobs add to your DPS (admittedly, in a relatively uncontrolled fashion).

Do you think that would work without having to venture off into minion nodes in the tree?

I've tried it! It does sound like such a cool idea that I had to give it a go. The problem with it is the minions are a LOT like skellies. They just wander around aimlessly and take forever to even get into combat that my overall clear speed was just bad. I was doing all the killing while my minions were slowly walking towards me.

So, I personally did not like it, but I am sure with some minion nodes or gear it could be fun.

I may have missed this earlier, but what are you leveling in Onslaught, Dragon?

I am attempting, keyword, to show this builds viability in onslaught. I have never played HC tho, so it will be a bumpy ride no doubt.

aaaaaaaand done. Can't do it. I am so bored starting completely over and spamming mana pots. Sorry all, I don't have what it takes. Hopefully someone else can show the build in HC.

Thanks for your answers. And no worries, i'm never following builds or advices to the letter. But i like gathering loads of information and ideas to mix them up and create something of my own.

Also, i may try your build in Onslaught, but I'm not a very patient player, so I expect to die somewhere between lvl 20 and 50 (like I always do in HC :p)

Hey all,
Just sharing some info about my little changes of your main build dragon.

1. Droped my 6L and bought a bringer of Rain.

- Pros:
+15 block phys + 9 block spells (75% block phys 47% block spells)
+60 hp gained
+10% chance to block and gain endurnance charge (means u can skip to wear enduring cry if u want)
+350 def
+4% Run speed (now it's not mandatory to get Leather and Steels for penaltys of armour, so u can save 2 points there)
And 1 of the good points: you don't need a 6L to synergy well with all of 6 gems, and it's pretty more cheap the settup of the gear.
Another good point: Drop tempest shield cause u have the block capped at 75% already (u can replace it for another 1)


- Cons:
- Lost some resis
- Lost only 300 dps
- You will lose some ES if u have a hybrid AR/ES armor.
- You will need a good resis pieces of gear to counterpart your resist lost on erasing your armor.

Overall:

I was testing with and without Bringer of Rain and i recomend to use it.
Since i am using it:
- Better tank/survability
- You don't need to worry too much for chaos damage (47% block spells is enough to tank and don't get your life under 3/4 of pool).
Using it u can save some Skill points in block chance and spend them in other ways, damage nodes, some resis nodes incase you need it...
