Dragon's Immortal Tank (Updated for 1.2)

jeah the reduded mana gem needs to be at least level 19 and because you are so TANKY already the life (1100 i think) isnt so painfull. you should have some ES and with the shield you reg it pretty fast too. i am missing A LOT in this build but i still like it.

I'm still using Malachai/Covenent to caste BM auras so still only 500 or so reserved for me. Going to be such a sad day when GGG fix it properly, very neat game mechanic that gives purpose to some of the uniques. I have 3.8k life and 2.2k ES, so still a massive buffer before death occurs. Considering the ES procs from Aegis makes you well .... immortal yo.

And there's no way I'm giving up Determination or Purity for Haste.

Determination because well armour is extremely important for this build.
Purity because it makes gearing a lot easier and great/essential for map elemental debuffs.

If you really want the attack speed, you're probably better off using frenzy and just manage the charges unless you're lazy or bad.

Blood rage only really kind of works if you have good chaos res and you have to invest in the life regen nodes in the Templar and duelist areas to counter act the degen from blood rage. And certain map mods will stop you from using blood rage, such as half regen / no regen and vulnerability. But you can sill use frenzy on those mods if you really want the trouble to get extra damage.

of course you max block or as close to as possible, because of AA

and stack against elemental curses

Been looking at this build since I have a shield now. I am currently a MF blender duelist. I do almost 8k dps with 3100 hp and 74 IIQ/ 384 IIR.
my question is can with this build u get that MF and still keeep the great blocking?
I messed around putting the 6 gems in my 6L with my soul taker and only got around 8k dps, I can get almost 14k dps if I get rid out my MF gear on duelist. I am wondering if its because maybe I havent gotten the elemental nodes???

Im missing something since I heard u guys saying with soul taker can get 25k dps, that means can change out gear to get IIQ/IIR and still have great dps

So I'm level 71 now, where should I go in terms of my passive tree?

Auras
We had two problems with Auras:
Using various tricks like Blood Magic, end-game builds would run six or more auras at once. This resulted in very little aura diversity or interesting party synergies.
Their effects were not impactful enough. If you had six active ones, it was a big difference, but each individual aura wasn't incredibly meaningful.

To solve this, we're making auras more powerful but are increasing their mana reservation costs. There are new aura cost reduction passives that allow you to specialise in having many auras if you still want to be a full-on aura character. Now each aura that affects you can really be felt and there's a lot more diversity in aura loadout. When we're testing high level characters it's amazing how different they feel when different combinations of auras are selected.
