You know what happens when your Reflexes turn to Iron?
...Maybe we should call it Ironic Reflexes instead.

" I think this is most likely the way forward. If evasion based builds are going to work with nodes like CI, it needs to be moved. My ranger plays with Evasion/ES. CI is way out of my way. Literally, the exact opposite corner of the board from all of the ranger-based nodes that i actually want. I know how the game works, you pick a build you need specific passive nodes to make it work, but those passive nodes that prove to be "cookie cutter" to shared aspects of a game need to be put in a more centralized location, imo. That said, i do think it's about time the notion of Dodge/Evade was evolved. A flat % chance to avoid a hit worked once upon a time, but now games are made for endgame. |

If I have Iron Reflexes, what changes in statistics am I supposed to see on the character screen?
At the moment all it says is 5% chance to evade and nothing else. Shouldnt it tell me my new armour rating? |
|
A few people have asked this question this morning already. Is IR broken?
It's supposed to do exactly as it says, convert all evasion rating to armor. So yeah, the numbers should change on your character info. |
|
As far as I can tell I dont have any armour related numbers!
|
|
Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
A lesson to everyone when re allocating all their passive points. I also picked acrobatics which removes all armour. At least it is my legacy character ... |
|
haha, bad luck datif
Acrobatics is great, it's like 20% block chance for 1 point. Arrow dodging is also great. It doubles evade chance, which is way more effective than doubling evasion rating. Evasion is great as long as you have enough HP to survive. |
|
I'm having a poor Chance to Evade since latest patch
Was around 69% in 9.10 Is Evasion balanced around having all gear Evasion based and with each item having both item properties in the tops? Would IR help this? If you're leaving PoE, chances are I'll rezz you as my minion! MWHAHAHAH

" This would all be true were it not also true that the insanely high accuracy of archers and other ranged attackers made it such that 'double chance to evade ranged attacks' actually worked as stated. There IS a marked improvement but in my experience, 70% chance to evade doubled against ranged attacks does not mean I am hit by 1 in 10 ranged attacks. I've sat and watched, because I'm a complete masochist. The cost of Acrobatics is more than 1 point: you need to get there first, although the new Skilldrasil does move it much closer, thankfully. And then of course you might as well spend the 4 extra points to make the impressive leap from 20% to 24%, and THEN spend another point activating the real goal, being 24% chance to dodge spells. And yes, Evasion is great provided you have the HP to survive, as I believe I've illustrated with my various updates. And this is where my thread and YoMicky's thread meet, because it is not dexterity that grants life, but strength, the domain of Armour. All dexterity does is affect accuracy (again, handled more thoroughly in YoMicky's thread) and, in a much smaller way, evasion--1% to evasion rating per 5 points means I get a whopping 100 evasion per dexterity node, give or take. I've already noted that my fairly impressive 11k evasion rating leaves me at 67% chance to evade right now, and that's with quite a few dex nodes and virtually every evasion node I could reach, including Leather and Steel. 100 evasion rating isn't going to make even a slight difference there. However, I am not tackling dexterity head-on, merely the keystones meant to embody the ultimate sacrifice to choose it as one's main defence. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" This is definitely related to what Qarl has said. Your current evasion rating is about the same as mine, and I'm barely level 52. I have 67% chance to evade with 11k evasion at 52 -- you're level 70. Naturally I'd expect that figure to be around the 50% mark by then. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
