Drop Rate doesn't match difficulty level now....
" We understand perfectly. If you like the drops as they are currently then fine but if they release the game like this you'll see mass uninstalls very quickly. A lot of veteran gamers aren't going to put up with garbage drops from bosses. You must provide a carrot to get the cart moving, rotting lettuce from the garbage don't work. The nerfs will continue until morale improves.

" I won't agree or disagree on this just yet as I am just finished with A1 normal, but it is obvious that this is just assumptions based on your personal opinion. Gamers that I know would welcome the challenge. The rarer good loot is the more exciting it is to find it. I could use a lot of analogies, but I am sure you understand. " And you would be doing the same, would you not? Look, they're free to do whatever they like with this game, and they're going to. I'm just providing my opinion just as you are. But if the goal is to be as profitable a company as possible in the future, alienating that portion of your customer base (whatever percentage that may be) is not a good idea. I believe it's a serious mistake to keep boss drops like they are now, they're just horrible. Rare is fine but if bosses are dropping primarily garbage, that's a big problem. If you don't throw in at least ONE magic item per boss, you're going to see a backlash down the road, I'm just trying to save them from that. But whatever, it's their call, not ours. All we can do is provide feedback. The nerfs will continue until morale improves. Last edited by Rippster#4037 on May 9, 2012, 5:42:26 PM

" I think what people like you are forgetting is that we are not arguing opinion here. It was said very explicitly by the developers that the intent was to make bosses more difficult, and rework the zones such that you could not farm them one after the other without anything else in the way, and as a result of that they could make loot from bosses more meaningful. I don't think there is any denying from most of the reports we are seeing that this is not the case. I obviously can't speak for everyone, but the posts I am making are because I believe something is wrong with the current loot generation. Maybe it's a bug, maybe they forgot to add the other half of that equation in, I can't say because I'm not a developer. But what's in place now doesn't match up with their stated intentions. " Just so people don't think I'm talking out of my ass, directly from the first post on the Beta Status forums by Chris on 0.9.9 information: " Diamond Supporter since 2012-04-24.

I don't think we have to worry. When they realise people aren't buying extra storage because they no longer need it magic drops will be increased.

Played witch killed 15 rare mobs (yellow) 2-3 boss named mobs and deweler in the deep + his chest. drops:
3 rares which is a tolerable drop rate. 5 magic items only which is horrendous drop rate not worthy of an Arpg The drop rate of magic items now is equivalent to WoW style drop rates with this game is not. These are not drop rates which an Arpg is designed for. Arpgs are designed around mass loot collect not scavenging. Now some of you say use the orbs. Ok, what orbs since drop rate is so ridiculously low, I have no blues to sell to get orbs and they didn't increase drop rate of orbs so your still not gonna find them often. Next argument is get magic find/ quantity gear. Again how when drops rates and orbs are unavailable. Plus I believe the dev's commented that your leveling set shouldn't have to be your MF/IQ set. That designed around farming at endgame. Not trying to get decent gear during leveling. I've been playing this game for a couple months now providing bug reports and assisting on forum cause I enjoyed and wanted game to succeed. Guess I'll just wait for them to up the drop rate again before playing. I'll keep an eye on forums to see when change comes till then its back to Torchlight and on to D3 when it comes out. " Frankly, this game's drop rates have never properly rewarded the time I've invested in it. I'm not sure that I'll play PoE again until the full game is released, and I might quit permanently after finishing it on normal at that point, if things haven't improved significantly. Loot is the only thing that keeps this type of game going for me. If the loot isn't there, nothing else matters. I was never one of the "D3 > PoE" people until recently, believing that there would be equal room for both and that PoE stood a chance as a legitimate contender (despite lacking a pedigree). But now that I've played as much PoE as I have, and felt shafted for the full duration, I think it's laughable to even pretend that PoE can hold up. And I really, really didn't want it to come down to that for me. Edit: the person above me is 100% correct: this is NOT an MMORPG, and its loot distribution system has no business whatsoever in emulating one. Period. For the record, I have never asked for abundant unique drops. I have never said that every third item should be a six-socket rare. I've never said anything that stupid, and if anyone here reads my post and accuses me of being one of "them," then they're the idiot—not me. I don't want charity, but I do want to feel as though there is a steady and reliable progression to my gear, not just my levels. If I can't find that here, I'll find it elsewhere. Ha the difficulty to drop rate has been steadily declining for like 3 months. I stopped playing this game a while ago because of it. Diablo 3. 5 days.
