Playing Self-found

Playing self-found, mostly because I am too lazy to deal with searching forums, haggling prices, etc - has little to do with concern over economy inflation.

I do find that once you start to hit your 50s/60s, gear progression gets to be a bit tedious because there are too many little variables that totally rely on RNG to progress. RNG is some of the best, but also most annoying parts of this game.

I swear my ranger went from the second act of Cruel until the end of Act1 merciless before finding a solid upgrade - IMO, character / gear / skill / passive progression starts to get a little wonky and uneven late game.

very true. This is when the self-found player rolls the class they have found gear for lol.

I usually have two or 3 characters I play regularly, just because of this situation. When they all get to be around the same level, it becomes like everything nice that drops is an upgrade for one of them lol.
Hey...is this thing on?
Hi,

I have been playing since the release of the open beta and have only played selffound. I mostly play on my HC account GranhammerHC and my best achievement so far is a lvl 51 Templar.

I've had a good handfull of HC toons die in their 30's and deleted them but I do enjoy to lvl new toons up so thats fine.

I havent been playing in a group for a single second and havent traded any items to any other person as I dont want to spend so much time trading when I can be playing instead.

youre right ofc..

the problem (for me) with using AH/trade is when you buy everything you need, what to grind for? To become "rich" in PC game? not interested really :)

Solo is great if you don't mind earning 1 chaos per day and dying from desync.

exactly

As long as they don't put a price to the items, I just ignore it, and with prices it's mostly too expensive ;)
(slow playing-style and little time)

I bought a sword once which was a nice damage-boost for me and still use it 15 (or 20?) level later.

Playing self found is fine.

lvl 68 summoner
77 fp'er
67 cyclone

then I have 3 alts in the mid 40's and plans for about 2 more atm.

Just save anything that looks decent for alt useage. Found 4 exalts and 6-7 gcps during the play time.

It seems there's a lot of people raging over the multi-boxers inflating the economy for the "average joe". With that said, i've been playing entirely self-found (sans (1) decent 2 hander that i used on my ground slam/heavy strike maruarder). Granted i haven't made it to end game yet - my highest is the maurader at lvl 57. Currently he's kinda stuck due to a lack of gear.

Although i'm currently starting to level a LA duelist. Hopefully going ranged will let me get to end-game a little easier than with my maruarder.

For those out there who are really discouraged to the inflation of the economy have you considered or are you going to start playing self-found?

I've had a blast of a time and am worried that if i enter the realm of the trade channel it'll be like what happened when i opened up the ah in diablo 3 for the first time...

thoughts?

i play self-found, solo HC with my LA ranger.....PoE is hostile endgame for solo players (you will farm lvl66-68 blue maps only) and with looting system is hostile to group play...so around 75++ you will just farm docks with occasianal a lvl66 map that will yield you nothing (not even another lvl66 map to chain)

PoE is a complete hostile game for all kind of players except

a) griefers
b) lootwhores
c) multiboxers

pretty much the worst kind of gamers will find poe a decent game....the rest with IQ > 60 just grind till something better comes out (another game, itemization patch on d3 or whatever)
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself
