Poe Seems Poorly Optimized?
Use nvidia inspector, you can set a max fps there.

Idd op this game is poorly optimized I can run D3 on max without troubles and i'm running this on texture = 4 and I still encounter fps lags. I mean wtf.

" best post so far. the game is poorly optimized and your specs don't matter, if you happen to have a card the game doesn't like you will get fps drops in party play and with certain skills. it's probably the biggest issue with the game and ominously the one GGG is most silent about. not good. |
|
I run on lowest possible settings and still hit 5fps in parties. I love when people cry about dying to desync etc... ya, I desync too obviously but it's never caused a death.. does it instill fear? big time.. but it never seems to lag out and then bam dead - the game seems to give you some sort of time or rollback

" doesen't optimization have to do with engine more than content? |
|
"His point is that it's kinda counterintuitive to do things like adding graphical options for all the content you already have (lower quality models/textures/spell effects) when next week you're just gonna add more. But then again, GGG isn't gonna stop producing content for the next few years anyway, so at that rate optimization is never not gonna be counterintuitive. Really they should've had their optimization ready for open beta. Graphical quality isn't gonna get much higher than act 3 so setting the benchmark there makes total sense. | |
Yeah, I've noticed this as well (GTX 670 user here), frame drops are not very frequent, but they happen and some zones really pump the temperature of my card, like Docks for example. I understand that it's beta and it is supposed to be buggy, but some things should be prioritized, like not getting people's video cards to dangerous temperatures. Now, I don't really deal with hardware that much, but 85C degrees seems a bit on the dangerous side for the OP's card.

yes this game is in desperate need of graphics code optimisation. this is of course most noticable on lower end machines, like the one i have.
i even tried to set the texture details to more or less OFF. this means there are no real textures, only colored polygons. this can be done in the .ini file. and i still get framerate drops (!). especially with more players. and my graphics card is still at maximum load. even though it doesnt really have to do much. i can add a screenshot if you want. it is very obvious that this should be the main focus in the near future because it is one of the main things that keep people from enjoying the game. especially on lower end computers. |

On a related note, they haven't put the defragmenter in yet so the game is taking longer and longer to load up. I installed in June, back when all decent names were already taken due to using a naming system from 1999.
Also, when someone uses summon skeletons, the game freezes for 1.5-2 seconds, this never used to happen during the first weeks of open beta. The files are probably fragmented so badly the system is also overworked |

" Can you tell me where is the ini file and how to decrease the texture detail? I really like to actually play the game instead of looking at a slide show. IGN Vermillionillusion
