This is pure quality for life! Trading as it should be! (ingame Screenshots inside!)
" I don't even know where to start with how stupid that is :) I fully support the OP, this 'trade' system (Not a trade system at all, just a shit load of spam by new people who don't have a clue what a good item is) I've had the trade chat open for 5 minutes maximum at a time because it just hurts my eyes. I can guarantee 95% of sales happen because of PoE.xyz.is and will continue to happen because of this website. If you're looking for something specific(An end game item, not some mid level crap), i can 100% guarantee that you will search for it on poe.xyz, because waiting and searching through 10's of trade chats and filtering through hundreds of junk rares to find the rare you're after just isn't feasible and is too time consuming. What makes me laugh more than anything is that half of you nitwits complain about how the AH was necessary on D3 to progress when it's the exact same on here, you need to trade to get anywhere, and with the current system it's a load of bollocks :) |

The trade chat is completely broken, with that I agree with the OP.
The main thing that would help, I think is a cooldown between posts so you can't spam it. (I literally see the same person posting their same thing 3 times in half as many seconds.) But, this will be a bit of added functionality as well. Maybe, eventually, the in-game trading will be efficient/convenient enough so that PoE xyz isn't the only way to really trade. |

Without going into the economics of adding the filters(because honestly I am not qualified to speak on it), let me pose some questions and offer my personal answers:
1. What is currently stopping me from spamming my entire stash full of accumulated items? From what I can tell, this is currently not usually beneficial because no one is going to look through my list of 100s of items for the one they need. 2. What will stop me from spamming my whole stash of items once these filters are in place? Nothing. I might as well post everything so that someone can filter out some of my items. 3. Does this increase spam? Yes. 4. Do I benefit from these filters? Yes. 5. Do traders benefit from my spam? Those that use the filters do. Those that don't use filters just see a bunch of spam. " Nothing is stopping you to do so. The main problem with the current system is, that people ALREADY spam their entire stash and that it leads to massive spam for others who don't want to buy your stuff. With a filter-system, people won't see your post or only (few) parts of it, when the filter filters something in. " Why should a filter option lead to more spam? The spam will stay the same as now, maybe it even decreases, because people will know that others do filter stuff out, their is no point posting something again and again, because most people can't read it anyway (thanks to filter). " Well, if you don't use filters, tha might be true. For people who don't filter stuff, nothing will change (they still see how people post their entire stash over and over again). But I could gree with a spam-protection for like 10-15 seconds. 1 minute is just to long and makes trading through trade-chat really pointless and boring. I already said that, when 4 people directly post after you, your post is gone for good and you have to wait 1 minute now. But waiting 15 seconds wouldn't hurt so much I guess and would significantly reduce spam, even for those that dont use the filter system. :) |

Nice idea man :)
I sort of like the current system tho, because of how inefficient it is. It's like finding the needle in a haystack sort of feeling. If it was my choice, I'd like to see a "bazaar" sort of trading center. Like a marketplace. I support this suggestion, trade chat can be a real mess, even if I wouldn't use it too much. One question, if you were trying to sell something would you just put it in trade chat like normal, and the filter system would automatically move it? Would there be a way to list a price for the items your selling? |

" You can see the answer to that in the last screenshot I have posted (with explanation). :) |
