(HC/SC) Facebreaker + Cyclone - Fists of Fury Duelist [Videos Included]
Physical damage is not really an issue, and it never really has been. The problem is that the value of armor per point has increased, meaning that curses such as Vulnerability have a seemingly increased effect since more armor is 'negated' by that effect. The main issue is that compared to my 85% max resist pre-patch, it is now 81%, so elemental damage is even more damaging than before (and it was already painful as hell beforehand).
Plus, since max hp got decreased, life leech max rate has been decreased as I've already talked about (can be remedied with Life Leech gem with quality). Basically, my conclusion for this patch is that our survivability for this build has been decreased by a fair bit, while dps is similar to before. The only increase for this build from the patch has been how armor has more value per point now, but as I elaborated above, this causes other negative effects. Before the patch, I could keep myself above 4.5k hp out of 5k hp pretty easily, but now even staying above 3k out of 4k ish hp during high mob damage periods is difficult, especially if your cyclone costs a lot of hp to cast. Yeah facebreaker is probably one of the only builds that got hit hard, mostly because they did not gain anything from the node changes, I mean the other melee builds actually ended up getting a bit of a buff overall in their tanking ability, but most melee builds did not rely on inner force as much.
My physical cleave duelist actually got a huge buff because he no longer needs to justify going to the mara tree for the 5% max resist and resist nodes and that little extra life, so I can pick up closer life nodes and end up with more armor nodes, more life nodes, and and probably double the damage from before. It is actually insanely powerful now, its probably equal to a GMP FP build in clearing speed, and a bit faster than a sporker, but a bit more risky. I think the facebreaker build can still work, it just is going to require a bit of reworking. Last edited by Maethorr#2375 on Jun 6, 2013, 6:23:20 AM

" I've reached pretty much the same conclusion. Before/after the patch I have identical HP/armor/resist/DPS values as you do, give or take about 100, and I'm finding I'm taking significantly more damage than I did before. Sadface. Last edited by Phylaris#5088 on Jun 6, 2013, 6:49:20 AM

Seems pretty sweet, I'll give it a go! Cheers!

Since I am currently running Cyclone with Life Leech, I respecced completely into +life% nodes, prioritising flat life over regen, meaning I could skip portions of the Marauder tree (until I get to the 90+ levels, eventually) in favour of getting the life nodes above Iron Reflexes. Health was increased by about 200, with 40 less health regen, which seems worthwhile for me.
Decided to keep Inner Force since it is still slightly beneficial, even if nerfed, and I wasn't willing to give up even more dps :P. Next few levels I will be taking the life nodes above Iron Reflexes to boost hp even more.

In conclusion, from what I've seen after the patch hit, I believe for Facebreaker Cyclone, having life rolls on everything we can get our hands on is vitally important, especially against ranged elemental damage which we struggle slightly against. From my experience, as soon as I get in reach to start spinning and leeching, I feel extremely tanky unless I get Vulnerability cast on me, however, if too much burst damage is taken while closing the gap, I will struggle to remain topped up. |

So did we get nerfed to the ground with this melee buff patch? Haven't been able to play much lately. Did our dps go up by much? Did our hp drop by much?

Damage is slightly lower due to Inner Force nerf, so Hatred gives us less dps. Health would likely be lower by about 1k hp, which is pretty huge. Armour is more valuable point by point, so even though it is decreased, it is more effective. General survivability, especially against elemental damage, is decreased due to lower max resists, and the lower hp means that stacking life for Facebreaker is super important.
Edit: I just encountered quite possibly the most dangerous situation I've ever seen on my toon - triple physical reflect. Beware physical reflect map mod combined with additional rares, and if you have Vulnerability added along with it, you're in for a rough time. Edit 2: In regards to Rustic Sash buff, I found that Rustics give similar dps but are more flexible with resistances and life. A high rolled Rustic will trump Meginord's in terms of survival stats and chaos res, but Meginord's will give more dps. Tested using Last edited by Acrosis#6154 on Jun 7, 2013, 10:06:42 AM

Here is my tree http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgQAAdwCcQSzBS0OrRRNGNsZLho4G_ohYCXfJ-0pLimlMgk26TrYOuE8LT38QKBDnEd-TdhN41BQWGNZ818_YEthIWVNZp5nm25pcql07XTxeA16uHrvfLh82YFvgziE2YTviPGMdozPkFWZK548nrmiAKQZplenhKluq8WsWayqrpO18rc-ud29gb6KvqfAGsQVxLjE9sauxtjUj9X44urjaudj7DjvDu9O73zwH_Iv8kXz3fZI-tL-Cg== 10k dps with with like 2 damage nodes is pretty insane bringer of rain just gives crazy dps(of course abyussus+6l carcass gives more) but abysuss makes you to squishy imo. Also don't use blood magic gem to activate grace just put one of these on then activate grace then take it off Last edited by Avisolei#0183 on Jul 9, 2013, 7:02:04 AM

Is movespeed not required on boots because of it's affect cyclone?
This would save a ton of currency if I can just buy boots without movespeed >>>

This is my current setup in Onslaught level 57
Love the build so far Passive tree so far: Finishing up the duelist starting area, then picking up Amplify and AoE nodes by the templar tree Had to grad some 30+ dex and int nodes until I get better gear/finish more of the skill tree
