When I finally reached lvl 24 with my duelist, I decided to try out Cyclone, and it was my main skill until I reached map levels where I started not to get enough life leech, despite having +17% Blood Rage and life leech which combined to around 16% (overall 18% with the 2% life leech node) life leech of my DPS. I was sitting around almost 5k DPS.
I decided to make Cyclone make my secondary skill since it was still useful in a way to clear a room quickly, though not viable against unique map bosses. I decided to use Frenzy since I have six frenzy charges at disposal at the moment. This is my gears that made Frenzy viable for map level, and still made Cyclone useful. I get around 15k DPS with all six frenzy charges, regenerate HP/ life leech fast, and I move pretty quickly, so I can tell cyclone is actually moving fast as well. I do like to spice up cyclone sometimes with so, I am not any form of danger from the voidbearers. Overall, Blood Dance, Facebreaker, and Bringer of Rain are my main pillar to my build. Blood Dance spikes up my life regen thanks to the % each frenzy charges gives off, and since my attack speed pushed me all the way to 5.92, I can life leech at an insane rate. I also got almost 11k armor (IR with Grace), and with the 4% Evasion rating per frenzy charge node, I get another 600-700 armor at my disposal. I am planning on getting my seventh frenzy charge to optimize my build even more. Also, I got 43% chance to block, so I occasionally get endurance charges as well. Since I got unwavering stance, I never get stunned, and the good thing about getting hit is that I have a good chance of blocking them. I plan to raise the block chance from 43% to 60%, so I can increase the chance to block, so I can have a higher chance to proc endurance charges which is a great thing against physical damage. I may end up getting two more endurance charges just to further make my char feel more tanky. This is my skill tree at the moment at lvl 71. Overall, I am doing pretty well soloing lvl 66-70 maps. Curious as to why you aren't running Hatred. Would be a significant DPS upgrade.

" I kinda forgot, I still have a +15% Hatred gem running around. I may try it out, but I wish I had more HP to throw around since 2.6k HP can only do so much. I know reduced mana gem can help to some extent. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Sorry, completely neglected that you were running Blood Magic.
Well, if you find survivability an issue you could always swap into Blood Magic gem and run defensive auras. Especially since it is fairly easily to reach absurd amounts of damage with Facebreaker, so the loss of a gem slot isn't too bad for more survivability. |
|
" I am only running Grace, so Hatred should only benefit me more unlike Vitality and Determination which gobbles up my HP reserved like nothing and leaves me in any danger of getting one-shotted from crit hit. Cyclone's DPS went from 4.8k to 6.0k with Hatred Frenzy's DPS went from 15k to 17k with Hatred Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Incoming Iron Reflexes nerf. Hopefully overall armour doesn't drop too much.
Currently on 25k, expecting it to dip down to maybe 20k ish. |

Since I had barely enough dex to equip stuff, my dex should be around 160. With the nerf, dex doesn't contribute any more so a loss of 32% increased evasion? For IR people that's the loss of 1 major armor/ev node, or more likely 3 minor armor/ev nodes.
Minor loss of 2k-3k armor? I haven't logged on yet though. Very inconvenient considering I'm trying to stack armor. That new evasion cluster near the middle looks tantalizing, but unfortunately too far away to be useful for me. sad. all sticks and no bones this patch... --- well. 1% less reflect should be good at least. I just find the fact that dexterity is absolutely useless except to meet item/gem requirements if you run both Resolute Technique and Iron Reflexes.
Maybe it is truly time to swap into a block build with Bringer, sigh. |
|
" No kidding. Dex is so useless that I just get it on gear. I don't even have enough base dex from my build :D I've found Bringer to be more acceptable ever since I arrived at the conclusion that increasing per-hit physical damage is a bad thing... Although I've resigned myself to using Immortal Call for double reflect, I'm still going to stack armor. I still firmly believe that armor is not as useless as people say (at least according to my calculations it does help). --- Lost 3k armor. Guessed bout right, but still not terribly happy. =/ Toupy - Lv93 Facebreaker Cyclone Duelist Last edited by Myrthr#6542 on Jul 16, 2013, 7:23:24 AM
