so if it's not an interal problem hacked, then your saying the person hacked is just f'd to right, no gear back, not back on HC ladder

Yup. Deal with it. I've been hacked in WoW before. It sucks. I was mad. I got over it.

Its more like the fact that they don't want to put in the effort to investigate the average players case. Like other people have said, its not that hard to tell the difference between a actual trade or a hacking with all the logs they should have.

You can tin foil hat all you like, but it's pretty obvious this situation is completely different to your average "I GOT HACKED" case.

Yeah, this time it's someone popular.
Implement /players x already

What I'm not happy about is losing my high level character and having GGG reps turn their back on me after my account was obviously compromised.

Except for the part where Chris Wilson said he knew for a fact that the issue happened on their end. No one else can say the same. Sorry about your luck, but it seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Except they have all the logs to look at, every chat log for both characters/accounts and IP logs. Someone taking every valuable item and moving it to a account based in China then deleting characters is not trying to pull some trade scam. All that would be needed is to trace the items back and remove them.

Chat logs would clearly show if a trade was actually happening. It just seems GGG doesn't want to go to the effort to actually look at players cases.

The "Impact the economy" and "Kill trading" is a really weak argument for not wanting to help paying customers as you clearly have all the logs you need to determine if someones case is true or not.

Because of you.

The social experiment continues.

The rotten modern generation is showing its childish colours.

You're assuming that it was my fault. I used a unique password and email for my PoE account. I shamelessly run adaware and noscript and dont click any links to anything. In my 12+ years of online gaming I've never been hacked, until last night. Assuming that it's entirely my fault that my account, or anyone else who was attacked, was compromised is naive.

You're an idiot. I'm going to bed.

Yeah, this time it's someone popular.

You're pretending that there was not a recorded e-mail conversation between a GGG employee and the person who tried to screw over Prozon.

This is not true of every other "hacking" case.

And they have stated that they aren't going to do this. I fail to see why this is a surprise? This is an isolated case where the problem was on their end, and easily verifiable. Every other case involve going through records. Can they do that? Sure, they could. But they have stated they won't. Don't like it? The door is that way.
The lack of reading comprehension from the cavemanguy and the narutoguy is astounding :D
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Nice work, Hilbert.
And as it is such so also as such is it unto you

He 100% deserved his account restored as he did nothing wrong at all.

And how do you know every single player who got hacked did something wrong?

Because if YOU get hacked it is 100% YOUR fault. Either YOU didn't chose a complex enough password, or YOU clicked on a phishing link and got your password stolen, or YOU allowed malicious and/or key-logging software on YOUR computer that YOU failed to detect and remove, or YOU shared YOUR password with someone else and trusted them, or YOU visited sites to purchase currency or leveling services.

See the theme here? When YOU get hacked it was a result of something YOU did.

In this case, Prozon could have had a 400 character long uncrackable password, never visited phishing links, scanned for malware hourly, been behind 10 firewalls, and locked his password up in a 6 inch steel vault below 30 layers of concrete... and none of that would have mattered because at the end of the day he was essentially a victim of identity theft. Someone impersonating him contacted support and was able to transfer account ownership that way.
