Except they have all the logs to look at, every chat log for both characters/accounts and IP logs. Someone taking every valuable item and moving it to a account based in China then deleting characters is not trying to pull some trade scam. All that would be needed is to trace the items back and remove them.
Chat logs would clearly show if a trade was actually happening. It just seems GGG doesn't want to go to the effort to actually look at players cases.
The "Impact the economy" and "Kill trading" is a really weak argument for not wanting to help paying customers as you clearly have all the logs you need to determine if someones case is true or not.
And they have stated that they aren't going to do this. I fail to see why this is a surprise? This is an isolated case where the problem was on their end, and easily verifiable. Every other case involve going through records. Can they do that? Sure, they could. But they have stated they won't. Don't like it? The door is that way.
Yet they will spend the time and effort investigating this case, solely because the person is a popular streamer. They shouldn't have even investigated according to your logic.
Thats such a good way to get good press and paying customers to your game.

Its more like the fact that they don't want to put in the effort to investigate the average players case. Like other people have said, its not that hard to tell the difference between a actual trade or a hacking with all the logs they should have.
You can tin foil hat all you like, but it's pretty obvious this situation is completely different to your average "I GOT HACKED" case.
Yeah, this time it's someone popular.

You're assuming that it was my fault. I used a unique password and email for my PoE account. I shamelessly run adaware and noscript and dont click any links to anything. In my 12+ years of online gaming I've never been hacked, until last night. Assuming that it's entirely my fault that my account, or anyone else who was attacked, was compromised is naive.
Yes, it is assumed its your fault, how else did you expect it to work? Assume everyone who cries hack is not to blame and restore their losses?
In >>THIS CASE<< GGG knows for an absolute fact that it was the black and white fault of one of their staff members.
You going "oh but adware and experience and years online and never hacked and wow special treatment omg wheres my mum" proves absolutely nothing, so yes it is assumed it is your fault.
If you still dont understand this then you too should not reproduce.

Because that's exactly what they did.

I find this very hard to believe. Right after Prozon was "hacked" his character was in a1 normal and moved to terrace for the mass drop transfer of items. The EXACT same thing happened to my account last night. I find it shocking that the person who "persuaded a csr" went about stealing his currency in the same fashion that everyone else has had their items stolen. Why would they target him instead of anyone else? This really looks like a preferential treatment case that's being covered up since he's a streamer who was high ranked and relatively popular.
I wouldn't say so.
The first login was ~3h ago and the behaviour wasn't like Prozon.
I reacted within minutes and since then I tried to waste time, while other friends spammed prozons account to waste time.
During that time I asked for a mod in channel till I saw a dev being online with the last posting.
I was basically only switching between characters and posting.
The entire issue was resolved within 2 hours and the trickster who got access didn't know how to behave when I invited him.
It's also possible that he couldn't transfer the stash towards another account. He had only around 20 minutes before I took action.
It would have looked differently if the trickster sold his items to different players because then it would be a tradehacklike restoration.
And the way how the trickster gained access would make it impossible to Prozon to login anymore.

I never said they won't investigate, I said they won't restore. There is a difference. Someone failed reading comp. Again, you seem to be missing the fact that in every other case, GGG didn't cause the person in question to get hacked. I get it, you're mad that you got hacked and they wont restore your account. And its hard to get paying customers to a free game, so I'll guess you mean the cash store.

Apologies, but these brain damaged brats really get me down, they also drag the species down on a collective genetic and evolutionary level.

Apparently you're unaware of the fact that any internet security can be breached and information can be stolen. I'm not saying this is the case here, but it is possible. I've said that I have no idea how my information was taken so im not blaming anyone. I'm also not asking for preferential treatment, im just upset that they took this course of action for Prozons account yet told everyone else that it wasn't possible to restore anything.
You need some new material though, using the same adolescent insult twice in one post. . pretty pathetic.
