14th ranked streaming HC player Prozon hacked just minutes ago.Pictures included.
" I think it's pretty simple to tell whether the person got hacked or he did a fair trade. Or at least it should be. If the "trade" in question was the guy giving away all of his items to a random level 1, it's pretty evident that it's a hack and not some trade he regrets. Otherwise, what is the point of tracking items if you're never going to restore them? Implement /players x already

I find this very hard to believe. Right after Prozon was "hacked" his character was in a1 normal and moved to terrace for the mass drop transfer of items. The EXACT same thing happened to my account last night. I find it shocking that the person who "persuaded a csr" went about stealing his currency in the same fashion that everyone else has had their items stolen. Why would they target him instead of anyone else? This really looks like a preferential treatment case that's being covered up since he's a streamer who was high ranked and relatively popular.
I was told, and i quote, "As far as moving chars from default to hardcore is concerned, we simply don't have the ability to do this and likely will never have the ability to do this." Implying that they don't have the resources to move a character back to hardcore league from default. I made it very clear that all I wanted back was my character, that I'd take the currency as a loss due to chris' post about the currency duplication. After seeing his character moved back to HC and all of his currency returned I'm left scratching my head. Needless to say, this is pretty disappointing. I'm glad Prozon got his character and currency back, I personally feel it was the right course of action. What I'm not happy about is losing my high level character and having GGG reps turn their back on me after my account was obviously compromised. 78 HC Marauder - RiP via Hacker

" Its more like the fact that they don't want to put in the effort to investigate the average players case. Like other people have said, its not that hard to tell the difference between a actual trade or a hacking with all the logs they should have.
" Except for the part where Chris Wilson said he knew for a fact that the issue happened on their end. No one else can say the same. Sorry about your luck, but it seems pretty cut and dry to me.
" I remember in wow a few years back in icecrown my guild mate got hacked cause he started logging on all his toons and selling everything from the guild bank. I even asked him how much and he said pretty much the lowest you can imagine. We got our stuff in guild bank back and all. I'm sure some people who bought the items kept theirs. Duping in a sense right. Guess this is all the hoopla in d3 dupes in asia allday to. Duping does ruin games. But in a sense. Give the buyer their currency back and no big deal to me.
so if it's not an interal problem hacked, then your saying the person hacked is just f'd to right, no gear back, not back on HC ladder

" No he is sleeping and he can be happy that I was online or else he wouldn't even be able to login anymore, there would be economical damage and things wouldn't have been resolved within 2 hours. " Well he will see his lvl 88 character in default. @caveman You don't understand what happened here. The entire action was live. I am still on the characters and didn't move an inch. If nobody could be reached and there were economical damage then the devs wouldn't have restored anything because there would be duplicate items then. I am certain if there is somebody else who loses his access due somebody persuading the support and some friend can prevent it live and devs can react. They will restore everything.
" Seems like you're suggesting someone actively rolled Etup back, which never happened.
" Because of you. The social experiment continues. The rotten modern generation is showing its childish colours.
" " You can tin foil hat all you like, but it's pretty obvious this situation is completely different to your average "I GOT HACKED" case. |
