14th ranked streaming HC player Prozon hacked just minutes ago.Pictures included.

Because that's exactly what they did.

Oh, you mean in this case that is different than every other hacking case they deal with? Where it was verifiable in ~5 minutes that the problem happened on GGG's end?

The lack of reading comprehension from the cavemanguy and the narutoguy is astounding :D

Finally someone had to bring up grammar and shit lol. Always happens. Dam langauge teachers playing games. I got street and game smarts, screw school ;)

Wow, it's worse than I thought. Protip: reading comprehension doesn't have anything to do with "grammar and shit". As a matter of fact, my own grammar sucks ass most of the time :p
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Every other case involve going through records. Can they do that? Sure, they could. But they have stated they won't. Don't like it? The door is that way.

I said they won't restore. There is a difference. Someone failed reading comp. Again, you seem to be missing the fact that in every other case, GGG didn't cause the person in question to get hacked. I get it, you're mad that you got hacked and they wont restore your account. And its hard to get paying customers to a free game, so I'll guess you mean the cash store.

My account hasn't been compromised at all. What I see here is preferential treatment to popular streaming players, which is wrong.

Do you really think people who got their account hacked did it on purpose? I don't think you understand how incredibly easy it is to get redirected to a phishing/phoney website. Are you saying no one should ever click a skill tree build? No one should ever visit any other website ever? No one should browse the internet ever?

A lot of these people aren't trying to ruin the economy or destroy the game, they are paying or potentially paying customers who want to play the game. Its the fact that they won't go through the logs to verify that it isn't someone who is trying to trade scam or item dupe is horrible.

You're assuming that it was my fault. I used a unique password and email for my PoE account. I shamelessly run adaware and noscript and dont click any links to anything. In my 12+ years of online gaming I've never been hacked, until last night. Assuming that it's entirely my fault that my account, or anyone else who was attacked, was compromised is naive.

Yes, it is assumed its your fault, how else did you expect it to work? Assume everyone who cries hack is not to blame and restore their losses?

In >>THIS CASE<< GGG knows for an absolute fact that it was the black and white fault of one of their staff members.

You going "oh but adware and experience and years online and never hacked and wow special treatment omg wheres my mum" proves absolutely nothing, so yes it is assumed it is your fault.

If you still dont understand this then you too should not reproduce.

The social experiment continues...

Apparently you're unaware of the fact that any internet security can be breached and information can be stolen. I'm not saying this is the case here, but it is possible. I've said that I have no idea how my information was taken so im not blaming anyone. I'm also not asking for preferential treatment, im just upset that they took this course of action for Prozons account yet told everyone else that it wasn't possible to restore anything.

You need some new material though, using the same adolescent insult twice in one post. . pretty pathetic.

OK. I know what youre trying to say here.

Why did they investigate the possibility of the hack being their fault unless it was only because it was a "famous" player, right?

I dont think they did, they investigated it in real time because someone who knows this person happened to catch the botter in the act.

This is the circumstance that lead to the realisation that it was GGG's fault.

It theoretically is possible that customer service has screwed up like this before, but without someone to catch it in the act and direct GGG in real time to investigate it then theres not much you can expect.

If they personally investigated every single hack claim with their small staff there wouldnt even be a game.

No company should provide special circumstances to "e-celebs" so if that is in fact what happened then shame on them (and fuck them tbh), but i dont think thats the case here.

No, he got preferential treatment because GGG gave his account info away to another person. This is the first and hopefully last time it happened and it definitely justifies the special treatment.

Last time I'll post in this thread, then washing my hands of this nonsense. GGG has stated that they wont restore a character that has been hacked. In this situation, they went back on that, because, in this situation, it was their fault. They switched ownership of the account without Prozon's knowledge. This is a unique case, that hasn't happened in any other situation. GGG owned up to their mistake and fixed it. People are now mad because they won't restore other accounts, even though GGG was not directly involved in those cases, and did not cause them to be hacked. Literally every other case, GGG was not directly responsible for the hack, in other words. This is a unique case, not like the others they see.

Now, if this were a Db breach, or something else on GGG's end, I would expect them to fix their mistake. This isn't the case. No matter how careful you are, there is a chance of someone with more knowledge getting your account info. Its a risk of going on the internet. I've been hacked before. It sucks. I understand this. Get over it. It's just a game. With that, I'll step out and allow the bickering to continue.
Issue resolved. Locking this.

Moral of the story here - ALL streamers/youtube/twitch/etc Should cover up their sign in email upon turning on their stream.

If you have publicly shown it in the past, to be safe, please change it just so no one can attempt to do this in the future.

While I am sure GGG will make sure this won't happen in the future, doesn't mean someone who can see your email won't try it.

My beloved pets....

I really am surprised you guys at GGG fell for this trap, quite a few of us were aware that Prozon had someone trying to steal his account by changing the email (for maybe a week or 2). I asked Prozon if everything was ok just a few days ago, and he said that he had already sorted it out with support.

I was going to confirm with support that I had spoken with him too and that everything was ok, but I decided not to because I thought you had things under control =(. It was an unfortunate slip up which could have potentially been avoided, live and learn I guess..
