Death Penalties

minigames or a maze might sound fun for the first few times, but they would be realy annoying after a while playing.
I've played games where they send you to 'hell' to get out after you die...

All those games failed. it's a terrible idea. Also any sort of maze has an algorithmic solution which == fail.

I with those who say that the penalty should be "instant" - Im playing games a lot and cant see myself going through some kind of "adventure penalty" without it being a real annoyance soon enough.

I don't mind death panalties being harsh but please don't waste our precious time doing some "penalty" over and over again (=

Yes... no repetitive death mazes would be nice. I think losing an accumulated bonus of some sort is better than losing something permanent.

Thought so. C-C-C-C-C Combooo Breaker!!!!
Though there are pros and cons to the idea of the making the killing monsters harder, I actually like the idea, if the reward increases also.

Say you die, the monster receives a 10% boost for 2 mins and a 10% drop bonus - now you get a real incentive to kill it. Think hard, fast - try again. If you die again, the same happens. You can at any point decide to stop trying and just wait out the 2 mins (or whatever time there may be left)

It would also encourage people to get a friend online to help out killing it (if the reward/difficulty had gotten high enough).

As long as its only the killing monster which is buffed, I see no problem - since you can always just go around it and leave it.

Another version of Blood Fury.

Well, just my 2 cents - would make for some interesting battles.
The problem I see with that is you are potentially rewarding players for dying. Depending on the value of good items compared to experience, it might be a better plan to intentionally get killed by boss monsters to get better items from them.
This are my ideas:

- After you die you lose experience lvl, respawn in the city with -x% of exp.

- After you die you appear in the city without your items and you have to go back to your body to get them again, but if you can't go to your body, in the next game, your body with your items will be in the city respawn near you.

- When you die you lose x% of your money, and respawn in the city.
