And as I said before, I didn't do the maths so I don't know if the dps is higher or not. Basically by socketing gems I'm getting a higher damage. If it doesn't actually means I'm getting a higher damage then, as I said before, I don't care.

Depends on how far you want to go. 1-2 ex (half of that is Astramentis) should be enough to do everything up to T14-15. Something like 8-10 ex is usually enough to farm the Shaper. After that you just kill stuff faster and die less often, but generally get diminishing returns.

So I go, replace both SR and CwC with SE and Concentrated Effect, and I get a higher damage tooltip. I don't get how I'm wrong. As I told you before, the dps might or might not be higher, but the tooltip goes up on selfcast.

Ok...I'm arguing with a retard. You quoted me saying someone else said non converted ice storm does same damage and I was showing that it doesn't.

Secondly stop talking about using CE. The CwC setup already has CE in it. The only gem you can add for damage is CD and I gave you numbers showing that even with SE + CD, you do less dps so stop arguing.

Hello Kelvynn, first i would like to thanks you alot for the build i made it self cast on witch (two league ago) did not played much on breach so i did not had the chance to try the CwC version i did tryed it a bit on standard the Berserker version for the next league tho and it's seems amazing.

Do you think the nerf of Pyre and the change of AoE will affect alot the build ? Or do you think it will still be okay ? I would like to make it as a league starter so i'm a bit afraid now :p.

The changes to AoE are actually a slight buff for this build (see 1 page up).

Waiting for the 2.6 patch notes to see what happens to Pyre. If it retains at least 50% conversion then we simply buy Avatar of Fire with the 2 points recently saved on dropping Deep Thoughts. If Pyre is nerfed into a FUBAR state then we switch to the old scheme that does not include that item (AoF + CtF + good ring).

Unless GGG has more nerfs coming that affect this build in 2.6, it won't be any different.

Neat build, want to try it. What's about witch vs scion version? Scion version gets around 80 extra int and duration. You have both characters and what's your opinion on bosses + mapping with witch vs scion? Thanks in advance

Scion has more Int but that only results in more ES. Elementalist does more actual damage. After they nerfed the Scion leech in 2.3 that class lost about 1/3 of its DPS and is now the weakest boss killer of the 4 versions of the build. Of course, the difference is only visible in the endgame (T16, Shaper, Uber Atziri).

But it's the fastest map clearer. The Scion constantly operates at 120% speed (or more with a good belt), and the damage is enough for 1-shotting trash in any tier with any mods.

So it's up to your priorities. If you want to grind maps - Scion is the fastest. If endgame bosses are your priority - Elementalist is the strongest.
