Thx for the tip ^^
I will give another chance to the build :)

Without a Vagan dagger, your hit and crit chance are going to be too low to be effective. What will happen is you'll spin into a pack of mobs and miss, not crit, miss, etc. and you'll get dropped on the floor.
Would a slaughter knife be a decent choice as well then? 1.4 AS and dps in general look decent and there are way more of them in the up to 10 chaos range on poe.trade currently with hits can't be evaded.

What do you think Your build vs CoC Discharge blade vortex cyclone aka Fakener, which one doing more damage and sustain/leech mroe hp?
Leech is the same on both builds as both do massive damage and will leech your entire HP pool back instantly.
Discharge requires EE and loses damage based on resistance. Physical spells generally shred everything and don't have to take resistances into account. The Blade Vortex in the Discharge builds also seems like it doesn't do very much - usually when I see people streaming and mapping with that build they reach something like 10 stacks of Vortex on average?
All in all? Single target seems higher with this build. AOE seems about the same. Area of damage feels larger with this build (EK projectile speed range exceeds Discharge AOE radius by a bit). This build lags a lot less.
I played COC discharge to 93 this league with Voll's Devotion and all. I am now playing the low life version of this build and I have to say it is tons more fun, less blinding, and clears faster over all. About to hit lvl 95. This build can do Core Malachai albeit with a few deaths. As an added plus over discharge, if you aren't one shotting everything, everything is going to be frozen anyways.

Slaughter knife is second best. Good starter, but not worth investing 2 ex to multimod. It's the same as a skean but .05 attack speed slower. Base damage of the dagger shouldn't factor into your choice at all though :3

Wish you could have told this to everyone on reddit who went on and on about how this build is clearly inferior to CoC Discharge based on tooltip alone!

Thanks, so you pretty much only care about the attacks/sec as well as stuff like crit and spelldamage? How does the flat elemantal damage on the weapon factor in? Would you mind explaining a bit what the main damage skills in this build benefit from (especcially what benefits so much from attackspeed) and what the main sources of damage are? As far as i can tell most of the damage comes from Cyclone, Bladefall and Etheral Knifes, Whirling Blades is used for Mobility and Blade Vortex to apply the curses, crit and get power charges. And from all these only Cyclone and Whirling Blades benefit from the daggers damage, the rest only from spell damage. Did i miss something there? How does the damage distribute between the skills (just aproximately) and does the flat elemental damage from the dagger apply to spells too or just to cyclon/whirling blades?
I know these are a lot of questions, since this is my first real char, so feel free to ignore it if answering would take up too much time :)

Okay, so Bladefall and Ethereal Knives are physical damage spells--they benefit from spell damage and % increased physical damage on your passive tree and belt. Anything physical related on a dagger will be local, and apply to the base damage of the dagger only.
Attack speed will determine how fast your cyclone hits the enemies. The more you hit, the more you crit, which is what procs your spells to fire off. Attack speed is basically cast speed in a Cast on Critical build. Attack speed and Crit are the most important things for your Vagan dagger because they are local as well - buffing your dagger's base attack speed and crit chance. Everything else you get (attack speed from passives, crit from passives, etc) is going to scale the base value on your dagger after local affixes are applied.
Cyclone does almost no damage in this build--99% of it comes from the EK and Bladefall.
If that doesn't make sense, you should check out the wiki articles on some of these topics, as I'm sure I'm not the best at explaining it >_<;;
Also, stats like spell damage and added damage to spells on your dagger are good, but not necessary. If you can't get them, it's not a big deal, where not having crit chance and attack speed basically makes your dagger dumpster trash.
And of course all of this is assuming you're using a Vagan dagger, with "Hits can't be evaded." Accuracy is rolled twice for critical strikes, so this is not negotiable if you want to be effective with this build.

Makes sense thanks a lot! I wasn't quite sure of what Cyclone actually does (or how much damage) just from the browsing the wiki so if cyclone is just the crit trigger that makes sense, thanks! Gonna try to get my hands on a decent dagger then. :)

Good ol' reddit. Btw, the build feels really tanky running taste of hate + ruby + topaz.

Hey there, thanks for the guide. I really want to use Atziri's Splendour because I just love the idea of the armor itself, however, there are not very many pure ES ones for sale on THC. Would you still recommend it even as a hybrid ES/EVA base? With 550+ ES?
