Recipe: 5 Items of the same type and of magic or unique rarity
Reward: 1 New Item of that type & Rarity (not identified) with a "random" number of sockets
Finder: ChickenNwaffles

Some of these seem rather unpractical. How often will you find 5 uniques of the same type? Meaning 5 identical uniques, assuming there is one unique per item type? The reward doesn't seem on par either.
I found a recipe that I didn't see on the master list in the OP:

Five magic flasks of the same size/type (mine were identified; not sure if this is required) = an unidentified magic flask of that size/type. This may work on rare flasks too, and probably also vials, but I'm unable to test that.

Edit: Heh, I see that DeF46's quoted text above is basically the same thing. It's a lot easier to pull off with flasks.

As for collecting five each of other types of items, having a billion stash tabs helps (in fact, having tons of stash tabs seems to be the key to success in this game...).

The same base type, nothing more.

It's actually quite common, especially when you are repeatedly rarifying whites hoping for a good role.

Though I have 1 question regarding this recipe.

Rings, amulets and belts can have the same base type, but completely different /itemlevel. (and consequently be eligible for different quality mod lists)

In this instance what is used for the item level of the created item?
Is it an average of the inputs? or the highest/lowest? or the first sold? or something else entirely?
Also, for base types with intrinsic mods (gold rings for instance), how is the intrinsic determined?

Experimentation needs to be done to determine this, as it's of particular importance for determining the viability of rerolling rare rings & amulets.

A few more bits of info:

1)

I couldn't find any recipes involving white TP gems.

We tried:
3xwhite+amulet
1xwhite,green,red,blue,amulet(various)/ring(various).

2)

5xitem of same base type & rarity = 1xnew item of same base type & rarity

- Does not work with whites.
- The ilvl of the output item equals the lowest of the ilvl of the inputs.
- With extra inputs you can switch them around until you get an output with perfect intrinsics/sockets on the output. (without it costing you anything)

3)

red+green+blue+amulet(any rarity) -> onyx amulet(white)

- The ilvl of the output is the same as the ilvl of the input.
- With extra gems you can switch them around until you get a perfect +20 onyx.
- This is great for repeatedly rerolling for exceptional amulets.
a) Goto chaos & find a lvl62 amulet
b) recipe it into a +20 white onyx
c) alchy it into a rare, if not fantastic goto b)

@ 3 trash gems+1 alchy per cycle it's quite efficient.

Regal Orb Recipe: 2 rare rings, 1 rare amulet, 1 rare boots with 20% quality, 1 rare gloves with 20% quality, 1 rare belt, 1 rare armour with 20% quality, 1 rare headpiece with 20% quality + either 1 rare two-handed weapon with 20% quality or 1 rare one-handed weapon with 20% quality + 1 rare shield with 20% quality or 2 one-handed weapons with 20% quality, quivers do not seem to count in any of these recipes!

Was probably mentionned already, 20% quality is not necessary (thhough I didn't identify everything, I assume they are not 20% quality by default?).

Also, short version:

"1 rare of every equipment slot (9 items with a two-hander, 10 with one-hander + shield)"

Hmm interesting! It was reported that if all items wasn't 20% you would get a Chaos Orb.

Can you find out what the exact difference between those recipes are?
I appear to be living in "Romance Standard Time". That has to be good! :)
Correct, nevermind.
I've gone ahead and compiled all this information on the Path of Exile Wiki and just wanted to give a heads up here! I've taken some liberties with the formatting for now, trying to make certain recipes easier to digest, but it's still very much a work in progress.

radiatoren, if for any reason you have an issue with your work having been ported onto the wiki let me know. I have attributed you and everyone from this thread on the discussion page, though I've removed all the "found by" credits as they don't fit in on a wiki. They could be moved to the attribution discussion however.

And yes, the wiki is sort of plain at the moment. We're working on it, but please stop by and contribute if you have time!
