The Exiled Sale Recipe Book (spoilers)
Looks like there are still several recipes waiting to be found!
I can see at least four in our list that are either variations of existing ones or completely new ideas you guys haven't tried yet. This recipe is not exactly correct: "Magic item with 6 linked sockets of 3 colours = Divine Orb" I believe this recipe is wrong: "6 magic items with only one affix = Orb of Augmentation"
I can't make these recipes work :
Recipe: 3 rares with same 2 prefix names Reward: Regal Orb Finder: Unsane Recipe: 2 rares with 2 same prefix names Reward: Orb of Alchemy Finder: SoulReaper Do they need to be same base item with same prefix ? What about the suffix ?
exact name
Amber Hoop Amber Hoop (alc) Amber Hoop (regal) ________________________
Chose you as you've been v active and ofc polite ;) codes FRA32-MYXC9-JXW2Z-XTJ2U Enjoy and happy xmas. |

Then change the wording; prefix/suffix implies the random mods that can spawn on the item in question, and it's ambiguous/easily misinterpreted as is. People coming from D2 are going to be thrown for a loop. :x
Hell, I didn't realize it was the random item name that mattered until just last night. >_> [D] Judikael: Summoner Templar

the correct term would be affixes.
|
|
" In this case probably the correct recipe it's: ANY item with 6-linked sockets = divine orb |
|
" Rare items do not use affixes, they just have a name which come before the item name, the name seems to be always two words with the second word being common between names. You could call it a two word suffix, which makes a bit more sense than calling it a name, which might come before or after. Names are common between item classes - I don't think the level matter but aren't 100% on that. Last edited by duolc#4211 on Jan 27, 2012, 1:09:37 AM

" I have a tough time finding a better wording if I have to be consistent with the terminologies. If you have suggestions for a better wording, please give an example. Be aware that the terminology is somewhat explained in the text before the recipes. Again, if you have a few ideas for making the recipe book more accessible please give examples! This is not thought of as an elitist guide for only the true veterans of the game so any suggestion on wording and making it easier to understand is very much appreciated! Are there any terms I need to explain better for newer players? Should there be a "dictionary" of the different parts of the game? I appear to be living in "Romance Standard Time". That has to be good! :) Last edited by radiatoren#0601 on Jan 27, 2012, 2:20:34 AM

" Rare item names are a little difficult to explain quickly without any possibility of confusion. What we really need is a name for the name. Something that does not invite confusion. Something like the "flavor name" or "randomized paired name" and then maybe give some common examples like "Pandemonium Shell", "Tiger Trail", "Gorilla Grip", and "Dragon Peak". Or, even better yet, put a very small picture in of two (or three) identically named rares of different base types. That should leave little to no room for confusion for most readers, unless they have image loading disabled on their browsers. Urist McDwarfy has been happy lately. He admired an exceptional ARPG recently. He took joy in slaughter lately. He has been attacked by the dead recently.

" Why don't we just say that rare's only have a two word prefix, no suffix. Keeps it simple. |
