Path of Exile seems to perform poorly on ATI/AMD cards?

Got a HD4650, it's not the newest i know that, but i can run games like GTA IV and stuff just fine. PoE runs at about 40fps solo act1 and 2, as soon as i get to Act3 it's unplayable at 5-15fps.
In a party it's always below 20fps and becomes nearly frozen in time in act3. IGN: Darkrox (not my main, just for easy contact)

I get 100+ FPS with vsync off on max settings using:
i3 3120 HD 7850 with latest drivers (although I never had problems with any of the drivers) I always play with vsync on and my FPS is always capped at 60 no matter what is going on, except when Piety shoots lightning arrows, then it dips somewhat. I haven't had any of the issues I hear people talking about, maybe I'm just lucky |

5870, random freezes occur mostly while in combat but sometimes outside of combat as well. Tried a few different drivers, with/out CCC (better performance for me with CCC), various forced/unforced settings, etc etc.
Can live with random dips to sub-10 fps, but the 1-2 second freezes get me killed nearly every time. Been a hard trek from 50->65 with the xp penalty :( |
