Path of Exile seems to perform poorly on ATI/AMD cards?

list the driver and specs?
My Craft Logs-thread/359202
I mitigated some of the FPS drops by using RadeonPro. I used it on D3 and it seemed to have done something on this game aswell.

I tested this with playing on my ranger with Quill Rain equipped and using Lightning Arrow + Chain / Lightning Arrow + LMP and spamming Poison Arrow with 3 Frenzy stacks (4.65 attacks per second in total) in a 6 player Docks group, and I didn't lag as much as before.

I think my lowest FPS was 25 with the program, as before it could go as low as 5 or 0.
It might help, or it might not.

Specs:
Intel i5 760 3.8 GHz
4 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5850, latest beta drivers installed just before testing.
1 Tb HDD
Windows 8 Pro

This is what I did:
- Download and install RadeonPro (Google is your friend)
- Setup a profile for Path of Exile
- Advanced > Flip Queue Size to 0
- Tweaks > Check Force aggressive API detection, Disable Aero, Force Process High Priority and Triple Buffering
- Ingame enable vsync

Thanks for posting this xaju. This made the game run much much better for me. Still drop a few frames but not as many as it was before.
Hi,

I am also just another user having issues. Here are my specs as well as some screenshots if it can hopefully help to get the issue resolved!

Game is pretty unplayable as of right now...

I just tried the RadeonPro fix and it didn't work either.

Glad it helped someone else!

You could try to fiddle with the settings.

A bit unrelated: if I try to put on fullscreen mode (not windowed fullscreen) and then alt+tab, my fps cuts in half..

This slightly alleviates the problem, but some areas, especially the docks, remain unplayable in parties, even on high end computers.

Running a 7970 gpu + o/C 2600k and having to deal with FPS drops to 10...

Yeah, I have a 7970 as well, i5 760 OC 50 3.8ghz 16gb ram and samsung 840 pro ssd (one of the best atm) and still got MAJOR SPIKES sometimes.

Fetid pool performance is HORRID.

Ive lowered shadow settings, disabled vsync and filters to 8x, I guess now it wont spike much.

Seems like only the 5xxx/6xxx/7xxx ranges are affected, as I've heard from multiple 4xxx owners that they have no performance issues. So, driver issue?

i have amd ati 6850 1GB memory! and act3 is so terrible it creates decyncs.. spikyness is everywhere.. very unplayable.. those cities are so much filled with rubbish and trash and useless crap and garbage! remove the f.. clutter. Its just a massive polygon number! million of dumb bricks and wood planks and they look ugly and they eat resources!

forgive for harsh truth but thats what makes act3 bad!

Other acts can be played at 50-70fps with fps drops to ~30 if i aggro a ton of mobs. But there is no spikyness and almost no deyncs there..
I swear if they make some maven "Simon says" insta-death minigame, sirus, exarch ball minigame then i wont play poe2.
hd6950 reporting in and reporting crazy frame rate spikes, especially in A3.. I have turned the graphics down to pac man mode, still happens.
