The only thing that worry me with div card are thefarming bots

They can have a real impact on the economy if they are able to farm what they want

Screw the economy. I just want orbs to craft items. I say buff them to 1000 times what they are now.

Funny thing is GGG balances drop rates for the eternal grind and player longevity yet its the thing that drives people away because there is nothing encouraging you to keep going.

you dont screw the ecomomy the economy screws you lol

tis a vengeful economy!

Seriously though the game is build around trade and the economy a flood of bots could be bad news, thats why GGG has stayed away from any form of offline trading

I dont see any any key!
Can anyone clarify, divination card creator does not know who/where going to drop the card, right?

Do you already have an idea which direction you want to go with your divination card?

It will be as rare as the exalted at least, the top tier pack have been always amazing till GGG put their hands on the player's idea bashing them

defeats the purpose of the cards totally. Can't be as rare as the item on the card.

lets say you need 10 cards for 1 exalt then the cards should be 1/10th rare as the item.

if not.. well.. as we say in sweden ''now you've taken a shit in the blue locker''

Yes. We won't know.

There are a couple of misconceptions being spread around in this thread...

1. Divination cards will double the amount of an item/currency on the market. This is something we don't know (since we don't know the rates) and it is something highly unlikely. Since cards will only drop in one specific area the only ways they could come close to doubling the supply of an item/currency is if botting is way out of control or GGG messes up the drop rate.

2. The rarity of a set of divination cards should equal the rarity of an item. This is not going to be the case. Rarity of cards is where GGG gets to play around. I could see a card set being more common than an item. I could also see a set being slightly more rare. It depends on how much of an impact GGG want these to have.

These cards are going to be interesting. GGG could make them have a huge impact on the economy or they could make them completely negligible. Personally I'd like the currency cards to drop in an area like Ledge or Docks. I'd love to be able to hit an extra chaos every 5-10 runs of an area or an exalt every 50-100. I'm guessing bots already feed off of Ledge like mad so I don't see this happening. I'd love to see item cards tied to specific maps.

Drop a Belly of the Beast Card every 5 Tropical Islands someone runs, make people collect 10-15 cards. Boom! You have added value to Tropical Islands, created a "job" in the economy for some people, and created a card that has value for people to use as currency. Have you devalued Belly of the Beast? Perhaps a little... But certainly not everyone is going to be running 50-75 Tropical Islands.

I'm pretty sure GGG is having a lot of discussions like the previous paragraph.

Are you entirely sure about that?

Something to think about: This is a new feature; Touted as a part of the expansion, paid for by high-level supporters, the cards themselves aren't going to play small part in the game. That would be foolish marketing and a waste of resources. Consider that I've counted 4 approved cards in the past few days that are currency alone.

Unless GGG also reduces the drop rate of orbs across the board, you're going to see a very noticeable increase in supply. When you're farming for a 5-chaos card, there is also a chance to drop a chaos orb.

I take no issue with cards that provide items. And, I'm not taking a shot at the OP when I say this, as it's not my money to spend, nor would I fault anyone for doing what GGG clearly allows. But mark my words, currency cards are a mistake. A big one.
