that axe IS endgame, with it i could use added fire gem which gives me easily 10k dps without fire lash

theres no way another axe could top that, i mean that axe is already 350dps with chill

The drawback to the axe is that it is an attack speed axe that is entirely physical damage. the reason that is a problem is because of the way armor is applied vs the way elemental resistances are applied.

Elemental resist takes off a flat percentage of damage no matter what your attack speed or damage amount is. Physical damage, on the other hand, is reduced by a greater percentage the smaller the damage is per hit, since armor is applied more frequently for a lot of small, fast hits, as opposed to one big hit (where armor would only be applied once).

In order to get high dps with a high attack speed weapon, you need to convert the physical damage into elemental damage with added fire, lightning strike, or some other ability. You can also run hatred or something, but all of those things only convert a fraction of the physical damage. You would get better dps on a weapon that had high elemental rolls in the first place.

Additionally, no matter what your build, you usually have enough mana to support a 45+ mana cost melee spell. If you go buck wild on all of your auras and rely solely on the axe to allow you to cast your main attack spell, chances are you didnt save mana for any support spell either, so you can kiss molten shell, decoy totem, your curses, and all of those goodbye too, unless you want to BM gem those...

physical cleave...?

not sure if i understood you right but i dont think that ele dmg > phys. dmg

above is a video with me killing kole with two high attackspeed phys. only weapons (was 31-32k dps at that time) and im killing everything else insanely fast too

and with the mana - my cleave costs 90 mana, which means i need BM gem without it i could use added fire which makes it to 100 but since i dont have to care about mana costs... well you know the deal

It's quite typical for BM user to have almost zero mana available. My lighting strike templar has 10 mana after auras and all my skills are BM gem driven. I have no mana passives (ow, sorry, I have one, because it was the shortest link between some defensive passives), so even if I left some "space" It would be very uncomfortable to cast anything, as I have no mana regen except base one...

I dont get why the belt is op. The max monster can chill or freeze u is 5sec.

So if i take

combo 1: Normal belt+sapphire ring

(u get no freeze but still get chilled. But normal belt u can get more resistant, wed dmg,phy dmg bonus etc)

Combo 2: Aux's belt+Normal Ring

(U get freeze and chill jus shorter time frame. Normal ring doesnt give more resistant and alot of dmg bonus losses)

Any1 can enlight me?

not exactly sure what you are listing but with really good ES gear (10k+) you are almost immune to freeze and chill.
also you just swap a belt for a ring and the only thing you really lose is phys% but rings give you flat ele rolls so you should do just fine :)

I used to think this way about the physical damage per hit. Many flaws in this arguement though. Mainly:

1-creatures dont have much armor

2-physical damage on gear. Abyssus +phys damage rings will give you 70-80damager per hit. With a 1.2 speed wep, thats about 90dps. With a 1.8 speed wep, thats about 135dps. Attack speed makes a huge dps difference when using phys damage gear.
For some reason, every item that doesn't have HP on it looks like a CI-build item to me now. Where's the love for the HP characters? Are they trying to push everyone to go CI?

Design on these uniques probably started before the recent buff to CI.
