I would also guess that it is a 25% chance on non-crits in that situation. So, if your crit chance is 5% (crit chance is 4% for cold snap, but it will never be lower than 5% without resolute technique or certain uniques), you have a 5% chance to freeze due to a crit, first. This will also be a more powerful freeze because freeze duration is based on damage.
For the remaining 95% of the time, I think you will freeze 25% of the time (assuming all "chance to freeze" modifiers are additive), for a grand total of freezing 28.75% of the time.
isn't this what i was supporting/providing when i was trying to answer the question before? it's same event but in a different question.
dev didn't answer is crit chance is before or after a crit. if it happens after, then the math is very clean.
then again the coding i written is incorrect example as game waits for something to happen, not checking if false lol.

I am new and i dont know the mechanics
But, maybe its like that
A = 25% Chance to freeze
B = 5% Chance to crit
AB = Chance that your freeze effect triggers and you crit in same time
AB + A + B
0,25*0,05 + 0,25 + 0,05 = 0,3125 ==> 31,25%

The question was different, as he was asking what was happing if you have multiple sources of chance to freeze when using cold damage (see cold snap below). The question was unrelated to freezing applied from critical strikes

Freeze chance from multiple sources stacks additively, and you can see it in the character sheet for the relevant skill.

My build does it, so does many other people uses it.
I picked wand because it has the highest possible base crit, 8% (8.6% if you omen wand)
Power Siphon, an wand only skill for example, is pretty powerful too.

Alice_MadnessReturns - Molten Strike AoF witch

I have no idea about this but can't certain daggers roll higher base critical hit chance than 8.6%?

Modifiers
[...]A randomly generated rare item (from a drop or Orb of Alchemy) receives between four and six modifiers randomly, with the following odds:
1/12 chance of 6 mods
4/12 chance of 5 mods
7/12 chance of 4 mods
Will it also apply to Orb of Chaos (reroll mods on a rare item)? Or or is the mod count constant (unlike Orb of Alteration for Magic Items)? Haven't payed attention yet during my few attempts.
