Mechanics thread
I noticed something strange. When I equip a second weapon my crit chance for both main and off hand seems to go up and I can't see anywhere why does this happen. Anyone got a clue?
Edit: nevermind it happens when one of the weapons is a dagger. Crit chance increase affects both hands then. Last edited by vankeris#5684 on Jul 5, 2012, 7:41:34 PM

When I get both Eldritch Battery and Acrobatics, do I still get a mana increase?

Does the "get +X life on hit with" support gem also gives the +x life with teh aoe of molten shell and infernal blow? Or does "on hit" only means mouse-click -> hit and not when hit due to a secondary effect?
But the lightning strike would give +x life? |

I have tried searching the forums and asking in chat, but I haven't found anything, so I apologise if this question has already been answered:
Can you stack status ailments? In particular, can you freeze an enemy AND burn them at the same time? Obviously common sense would suggest "No", but you can inflict cold and fire damage simultaneously, so I thought I'd ask. Sorry again if this has already been asked. |

Just now downloading the client to try first time, but my internet is a bit slow so I have some time for theory between now and when it finishes.
This is intriguing to me that they have chosen models for resistance, armor, evasion and accuracy that are situational or make EH non-linear. It should make for a more difficult choice when determining which stat is the most "optimal" in any given situation. A quick attempt to plot EH versus armor: First assume that armor = k * d, then substitute this back into the OP's original DR formula. Simplifying you get: r = k / ( k + 12 ) EH = 1 + ( k / 12 ) DR as a function of k EH as a function of k Now you would pick a situation that gives you the most trouble, and pay attention to how big the enemy's physical hits are. You would want to use that particular case to evaluate these forumlas. Probably when you are taking very large hits. So if you are being hit for 500 physi damage and wearing 5k armor: k = 10. DR = 45.5%. EH = 183.3%. Adding 500 more armor would bring EH to 191.7%. EH gain per 500 points armor: 191.7/183.3 - 1 = 4.5%. %EH gain for +1k Now I must come up with plots for EH vs evasion and DPS vs accuracy. Let a man walk alone - Let him commit no sin.
