Life/mana per level
All classes begin with the same base stats, and gain the same amount per level:

50 life, +6 per level
40 mana, +4 per level
50 evasion, +3 per level (including level 1)

the base stats seem to have changed.
i tested it out and got the following stats at lvl1:

Templar: 61 life, 51 mana, 55 evasion
Shadow: 57 life, 51 mana, 55 evasion
Marauder: 65 life, 47 mana, 55 evasion
Ranger: 57 life, 47 mana, 56 evasion
Duelist: 61 life, 47 mana, 55 evasion
Witch: 57 life, 55 mana, 55 evasion

can someone confirm whether the level increase is still accurate?

The Info in the OP is accurate, if you add the starting base Life, Mana, and Evasion to the bonuses granted by the starting base stats (Str, Dex, Int) you get your values.

"

Classes also start with different amounts of attributes at level 1:

Marauder: 30 STR, 14 DEX, 14 INT
Ranger: 14 STR, 30 DEX, 14 INT
Witch: 14 STR, 14 DEX, 30 INT
Duelist: 22 STR, 22 DEX, 14 INT
Templar: 22 STR, 14 DEX, 22 INT
Shadow: 14 STR, 22 DEX, 22 INT

Strength grants +0.5 life and +0.2% melee physical damage per point
Dexterity grants +2 accuracy and +0.2% evasion per point
Intelligence grants +0.5 mana and +0.2% energy shield per point

There are modes that "increase effect of buffs on you". But what are buffs?
Certainly, auras like Clarity or Discipline.
But Righteous Fire's MORE spell damage?
Keystone Pain Attunement - is it a buff also?
Hateful post.

collect regret orbs equal to the amount of skill points you have, less if you still have respec points from quests.
as it is still beta, if the passive grid changes enough to cause problems because of connection edits or new stuff, then a full respec will happen for everyone. DON"T count on it though.

Buffs are spells that show up in the top-left corner. This includes auras and RF, and excludes any passive skills of any kind. It also excludes Charges, which may be buffs but the buffs themselves aren't what give you increased stats.
Can someone clarify Freezing Pulse a bit for me?

I'm aware of it starting off with high damage and then losing damage as it travels outwards. I know you can increae the high damage range by speeding up its projectiles.

However, what exactly are the values here?
For example: Does it deal 100% of the damage for a third of its length? Does it deal more than 100% at the beginning, hitting 100% in the middle and then falling off?
I assumed up until now that ignite was capped at the same effectiveness of chill, freeze, and shock, but someone pointed out to me that I might have misinterpreted.

Does ignite get capped at the effectiveness of 1/3 of max target HP like the other ailments? Anyone know?

burning is 1/3rd of fire damage delt over each second for 4 seconds on trigger. not dependent on anything else and damage can be boosted by burning damage passives, or a stronger fire damage hit that caused the burning. also resistances of course.

@ zankioh http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/13710/page/9#p871808 same about damage though
