hate to beat a dead horse here. and i am refering to a comment that mark explained on this thread on page 30. i am looking for clarification.

its about spell damage, if there is a reference to a clear explanation please reference it for me.

I am weighing the pro and cons of righteous fire in more ways than one. but right now i want to talk about spell damage.

from what i know...

spell damage can be increaed from items and passives. spell damage can be multiplicative righteous fire and pain attunement.

spell damage (without RF and PA)
74% increased spell dmg

however passives also have elemental spell damage bonus.
56% increase elemental dmg

Also passives have light/cold/fire damage bonus.
total 104% lightning dmg increase

So how does this all calculate out. first Q.

To save the members the trouble the difference is %234 additive vs 5.537376 X base spell damage (without items) multiplicative. which is it?

provided all these items say increased spell/lightning/elemental damage - all together are these all additional % increases?

Second question.

Righteous fire skill and pain attunement both have MORE spell damage. does the bonus multiplicativley get calculated with spell damage and then % added to lightning and elemental damage bonus?

Third question.

spell damage increase from items added % or multiplicative to passive and spell bonuses?

trying to figure this out once and for all.

THANKS!

1) 234% increase to spell damage, or 3.34 * base for a lightning spell based on your provided info.

2) base * additive boosts * first "more" * second "more" * ect.

3) additive unless they say otherwise. i heard exceptions like redbeak but i don't remember clearly.
Cool, thanks for posting.
Does Resolute Technique also apply to totems? Meaning they cannot crit?
well shockwave totem already cannot crit, while spell totem uses a spell's crit chance and your stats to cast.

sounds like a yes but no one ever went spellcaster and resolute tech when spells do not miss without special passives monsters do not have.
thanks buddy, was trying to figure that out! seems with RF alone i can save around 40 skill points and focus on more +elemental resists and life regen and max life. Pain attunement saves another bunch of passives. ill look into redbeak.

u answered all my q!

There is no passive that allows Spells to be Evaded, and ResTech only negates Evasion :) Block, Acro and Phase Acro still work.

that's quite confusing :/
Hello, welcome, thank you.
Power Siphon doesn't benefit from Spell Damage at all, right? Why exactly should I be using double wands with it then? Especially considering wands' implicit mod is Spell Damage +%.
