Nerf Voidbearer

They're also Agility skills, something not all melee characters will spec into. They also don't help the "melee range is death" factor of higher ranked Voidbearers. I don't know about you, but killing something purely with Bear Traps is a long and tedious problem unless you've levelled the skill significantly.

In which case, refer to my first point. Not all melee characters spec very far into Agility.

The point is not "you can use so and so to cheese the mob". The point is that I shouldn't have to completely rearrange my chosen playstyle to even be a match for a SINGLE enemy.

"You should use bows" is not an acceptable answer to a mob instagibbing a tank specced character. Bows are not the only weapons in the game. I should, in no situation save for team oriented content, be required to use a certain weapon or skill that I may or may not be speccing towards. And even in said team oriented content, that should only be necessary for some ridiculous solo strategy. With a team, again, I should be able to play with my preferred weapon or build.

Not the one you think everyone should use.
another option is to have your alt weapons set arranged to take on different mobs.
in other words, have your main wpn for regular use, and another wpn/combination/skills for specialzed situations...

just a thought :)
I only have a problem with voids if they have multi projectiles....

IGN: Ziggro
Try to get one voidbearer corpse + raise spectre + GMP + damage + life

Profit.
The one that stomped me was maybe a moded one, coz I can melee the normal ones easily since I 3 shots them or so usually. But any desync/lag spike makes me potentially die to a normal one still ...

GOOD LUCK KITING THAT ONE
T_T
and since most of the people including me ( no ghost reaver yet, but I doubt that'd be enoug anyway ) can't melee it .....
\o/

EDIT : just died to a normal one coz of a desync ... yaaaay

In this thread the talk about Docks (and voidbearers) is in the context of farming, which means you can (and usually will) put on specific equipement to deal with the mobs there.

Bear trap is viable for any character. So put on your +dexterity gear, with double or triple bear traps linked to added fire dmg. (massive DPS!) and laugh at voidbearers... No need to spec into anything.

In this thread, we talk about voidbearer, and nothing more, in the context ..... wait, we don't care about the context. The thread is about their damage.
That's what the first post is about.

It sounds to me like the tank stats are all fairly bad at their job, and this is why everyone stacks health.

Armor doesn't scale with the most dangerous hits. Evasion is placing survival in the hands of chance, which is extremely undesirable for HC. ES is the best, but it's difficult to get a large pool. Str provides +life and the passive tree has a decent amount of +% life. ES nodes only provides +% ES and it's fairly scarce, and thus it lacks the scaling of life nodes. Some nodes are +8% compared to the +5% for a plain 10 int node.

Wrong. Evasion is anything but chance based, except for the initial hit.
