Nerf Voidbearer
Make it, so they cant turn while channeling their "flamethrower" and i´m a happy duelist :/
Oh and make them deal triple dmg at range, for those range players who think it is so easy ;) The Bestiary league proved once and for all, that GGG only listens to crying instead of well thought out criticism. Last edited by Temeritas#5526 on Feb 21, 2013, 6:41:12 PM

First of all, I've never complained about nerfing or things like that at all in this game, I found it very challenging and balanced, until I encountered a group of blue(magic) voidbearers.
I believe the problem is either their moving speed or their attack speed, not their damage, the only way of killing them that i have is by tanking it, which makes it quite hard. I think voidbearers should be nerfed just a little. |

There is some sort of scaling mechanism at work in poe just like there was in d2. By this I mean that for whatever reason if you are not X levels above the enemies you will do worse than someone who is even if your gear/build is better.
For example, if I'm a level 58 in a level 62 area I will have extreme difficulty, but if I go back at level 65 with the same gear and a few new skill points in things that don't matter, i.e. nothing has changed since level 58 except my level, then I will own the area. Right now I've got a level 76 shadow archer and level 68 duelist dual wielder. My shadow can just sit there and lightning arrow in the middle of a big storm of firedogs and lifeleech back everything easily with the 3 arrows from LMP + life gain on hit. I have 1.9k hp and 75 res all. Meanwhile, my duelist has 3k hp, 75 res, can be hitting huge mobs of 10+ units at a time with life gain on hit cleave @ 1.5x the damage my archer does (duelist is 6k dps, archer is 4k) with 10% lifeleech (both chars have 10% lifeleech as well as LGOH) and he gets OBLITERATED, getting hit by the same hits. The firedogs with Multiple Projectiles are particularly ridiculous, I literally get 1 shot by them with 3k hp and 75 res all, dead in 1/2 a second before I can even drink a pot or whirling blades out. Add to that the fact that the docks are now desync-y as fuck after whatever GGG did to the shadow/light layers in the last patch and it adds up to a very very very annoying scenario. I'm not even moving and I'm teleporting around and enemies are teleporting around constantly. As soon as I ding whatever the magic level difference between me and the firedogs that is needed, I'll suddenly be invincible to them. D2 did this too, but in D2's case the displayed stats were relevant to what you were fighting, so if you were a level 55 in a level 70 area it would tell you your chance to hit was 25% even with gigantic AR, or whatever. POE just tells you the stats vs an average enemy of your level. But once you got within the range the game likes suddenly you're 1000x better vs the enemies. I'm all for difficult monsters, but in my opinion GGG must adjust their power so it makes sense to have them in a specific area. Voidbearers are 100 times stronger than any other enemy in the docks and that's lame.
If you are using a melee hero it's extremely difficult to level up in the docks since you can't even dodge their fire attacks after they started attacking because their turn rate is really fast. Not to mention champion Voidbearers with multiple projects (and extra fast).... they simply wiped my entire group before we could even know what was happening. |

I was farming docks on cruel difficulty for 10-15 levels on my archer. The only mentionable resistance I had, was 75% cold resist and that thing seemed to make a huge difference because I could tank the voidbears purely on my LPH. Idc what the problem here really is. Day by day I start finding more threads by people complaining about this game being "too difficult". If it's too challenging for u - don't simply play it.

" Huh? The only innate advantage that a higher-level character has is slightly better base HP, mana, Accuracy and Evasion, which you will see on your listed stats, and none of them change by much if you just go up a few levels on a high-level character. Everything else comes from your gear, gems and passives. In practice though, nearly every passive point does matter (even if only slightly), and it's unlikely that you haven't levelled up any of your gems from lvl 58 to lvl 65 (unless you have been deliberately refusing to level them). The only problem I have with these mobs is the chance of them getting LMP.
Melee characters simply cannot take 3 streams of flame per Voidbearer to the face, that affix + mob combo is obviously broken. The fire stream by itself is fine, adequate fire resist and life regen or other means of reducing spell damage should prove so. The mob itself does not warrant changing. The mob affix LMP on Voidbearers should be removed. I'm still not sure what GGG plans to do about Summoners with GMP Spectre Voidbearers. Maybe it was planned in the first place. " Cruel and ranged ... Did you try melee and merciless? I agree that there should be some difficulty in this game, and voidbearers is part of that. I don't mind they do truckloads of damage, but the difference with other mobs of that level is waaaay too huge that it realy looks like a balancing issue. Agreed with the OP. The normal voidbearers are okay for me to dealt with. I have max resist on both fire and cold so whatever damage it is, I'm fully protected. However, once you come across a rare version of one with multiple projectiles and regenerating health, it's a wrap. I was just in a party with 5 other people and we all had to leave the area. It just ruins the pacing of the zone when everything is like a 6 out of 10 difficulty and then u come across that thing which is a 12/10 lol. I swear that thing was harder than piety

OMG you mean there are actually mobs in this game that can actually, unexpectedly, like kill you?
WTF! Thank god we can always go back to D3 Last edited by Falan2#3075 on Feb 28, 2013, 2:21:51 AM
