The Herald of Ash : A Physical Bow Build

Hi, I got inspired by your build but chose a different way, im using Chin Sol and split critt chaining arrow with hatred

A few questions:
Is inc aoe vital fornthe herald of ashe?
By dropping it I may also be able to run herald of ice, a good idea?

Inc AoE is solid but unnecessary, being able to run Herald of Ice doesn't add much since the additional damage isn't meaningfully scaled by your other items or your skill tree.

Running Purity of Lightning + Lightning Coil has been the most satisfying use of extra mana that i've found thus far.

Thanks I read again the definition of herald of ice and is definitely not better than hatred. Of course The coil + purity is a must..but I already did that in previous... in wanna try something new..maybe queen of the forest or daresso ;)

By the way I think fire penetration is useless for the burning part (ignite) but not for the added fire part due to the overkill, am I right?

No, FP won't help your HoA ignites, because it's not a "hit". Nor do I think it will help on your ice shot, as the fire damage is only a component of your ice shot hit, the rest is phys and ice damage.

This build really works well due in large packs if you can line up a piercing shot through a large pack. Otherwise, it's mediocre against individual enemies. It's also quite weak in large groups, when mob hp are high enough that you're unlikely to be the one overkilling them (plus I guarantee someone else will be shattering corpses so you can't proliferate).

Me, I've decided to switch away from point blank, and I aim to off-screen packs. I'm now running a surgeon's jade flask, so that plus Ondar's guile keeps me mostly safe from reflect.

I only use point blank as a support gem for my bleedings traps...so I always get 50% MORE projectile and 100% MORE dmg (chin sol)

For reflect mob I just trow a trap at it and its done...
For reflect maps.... I think u switch my puncture for vaal burning arrow and trow a big one into a pack

The whole point of the build is to have the hardest single hit for overkill burn right? I'm wondering this as well. Is concentrated effect really the best 5 link option for ice shot? Been really enjoying this build. Don't have a 5 link yet unfortunately.

Well, conc effect is another MORE modifier giving even more overkill damage for the Herald of Ash gem.
You can tell yourself by your kill speed if you need more damage or not :)
