The Herald of Ash : A Physical Bow Build

I really wonder would this work with the standard version of Infractem?

The standard one isn't as powerful as the one in rampage.

Or i can use Lioneye and get the pierce nodes right of the shadow area for 40% pierce chance?

Just got to 32 and tried this with death's harp.
Shit is insane but I really feel I'm going to one-shot myself pretty soon. :p
Wonder if there is some way to guard against that cuz' this build is FUN!
The build is amazing, seeing 40 mobs melt from 1 arrow is insane :)

My only problems are with mana. I miss 2 arrows and my mana is gone...even with 2 mana pots, its still hard not to run out of it...are you having problems with it? If not, how did you solved it?
I am level 72 using this build, so I started clearing 70+ maps with a friend of mine, here is my input:

Gear

Drillneck dropped yesterday, which was a huge boost in damage. Lightning coil helps against physical reflect, so I don't one-shot myself even on reflect maps. Str/int requirements were a problem until I upgraded my jewelry, but +30 nodes help tremendously.

The build works even without even a 5L, the damage I output is simply insane, instantly melting huge packs off-screen without all physical damage nodes. If I ever manage to 5L my chest armor, I'd socket my current HoA setup + inc burning damage into it, and probably move CWDT setup into my helm (RRRR would be insane, I'd have to come up with something else). I don't see any huge dmg boosting gems for IS, apart from maybe crit chance/crit damage. Mana issues are completely negated by the thrill killer circle.

The only problematic monsters are the generic EK/bear trap casters and chaos alchemists, which are a pain in the ass for every evasion character in general. Apart from that, the combination of immortal call, smoke screen and vaal grace allow me to facetank anything for a couple of seconds. If I face a map with especially difficult mobs, I just switch hatred for grace, giving me about 55% chance to evade.

Overall, an extremely solid and fun build capable of clearing high maps with insane speed, although probably not atziri-viable.

I too got a lucky Drillneck. It was a 40% damage upgrade for me. Additionally, it is nuts for Puncture since projectile damage apples to bleed from bows.
Hey all !

I am following this build atm. I am lvl 43 with death's harp and everything die within a second, it is so incredible !

But i am actualy reading all the thread and i begin to fear about the resistance of this toon. Not enough life, evasion is not very strong IMO...

Someone managed to change the three a bit to improve that ? What it is possible to do ? CI maybe (we are near lot of strong ES clusters) or MoM + AA (is it still viable since the hard nerf of clarity ?).

As you can see, i am a bit lost.

Thanks for your help
good build but i got 2 questions: you stack on your items alot Phys Dmg is it important for that build? and second is: how did you get Crit chance on that bow ? :) thanks

Here's my variant, tons more life, 60% flask increase, more STR which was a pain to get following OP's build requiring you to get it on gear. I think mines better overall, definitely the HC tree you want to use for those wondering:

I see you removed two physical damage clusters entirely and put two points into shadow starting area to compensate for it, while gaining a whole lot more life and some evasion for survivability. May I ask how much did your damage drop so far?

Edit: Also, for the mana problem, wouldn't getting Mind Drinker be a better idea? It shares a branch with Blood Drinker cluster, and with the insane damage that 2% will definitely be much more than 20 times the number of mobs you hit as your arrow pierces. Lastly, you can save one point to put somewhere else that way since the pathing in that cluster has a "shortcut" for grabbing it, instead of forcing you to grab everything in the cluster like Thrill Killer.

In honesty, how am I supposed to know? I never picked up those nodes, yet just arrived to lv65 and already cleared lvl 66 maps like nothing, with only 31% crit chance and 6.7k ice shot dps on 4-link. Comparing my tree to the original OP's tree, I only lose about 50% physical. You can make up half that with a rustic sash. I lose bout 30% crit, again, can be made up with a diamond ring or crit chance on quiver. All my damage can be made up, however 40% life cannot, and we cover STR better too, which as of the current OP's tree, you'd have to get 70+ on gear to max lvl red gems. You could even drop about 12% life for more damage if that's what you really want and still be above 150% life.

Mana problems currently are dealt with using Infractem. We don't go mana drinker because WE CAN'T LEECH. That's the sole reason.

The end goal, is to transfer this into a Drillneck build, with a 250 pdps bow with links:

Ice Shot > Added Fire > Physical projectile > weapon ele > Pierce for 5-link, perhaps cold pen or crit damage/chance for 6-link.

When we switch bows, then we can go mana drinker and spend the other point elsewhere :)

Nevermind, my brain went retarded yesterday and I skipped Infractem's mod somehow. Thanks for pointing that out.
does the build also works on Standard ? :>
