The Herald of Ash : A Physical Bow Build

does the build also works on Standard ? :>

Im using it on standard atm, and seriously its a joke, some maps are harder because there are not many packs, but when you see packks they just melt, boses are easy because of puncture setup, i got underleveled because i was beating stuff so easily.
What if I get 2 6links with this build? should I do curse on hit + vuln on puncture?

Also, how do you keep up on mana without potting all the time?

ty "blackhail" could you post your stuff in here please ? :)
I've got a ranger variant of this tree. She originally started life as a regular crit ice pierce ranger, before switching over to this crazy ash prolif build. So I'm packing way more attack speed than I really need. However, this isn't a waste! I already 1-shot large packs, and having more attack speed helps me work down smaller packs of tankier mobs, as well as rares and bosses. I grabbed Harrier as well, because it was only 1 point away, and I like the flexibility of high move and attack speed.

I also like the idea of keeping Point Blank. My high movespeed lets me get out of jail, and it will stop me from insta-ripping myself to off screen reflect. But who knows, I might drop it.

Here is the current tree. I'm going to path away from piercing shots, and towards revenge of the hunted.

Since I had problem trying to RRBB my 3 Dragons, I opted to grab a cheap Volls for the extra crit. Also picked up a cheap Maligaro's from a guildmate. And since that reduced my mana pool, I decided to reserve most of my mana by replacing the Increased AoE on HoA with reduced mana, and adding a grace gem (I'm levelling a hatred in an off-slot). And since that left me with 50 mana to play around with, I decided to replace WED with a BM support. This also lets me use puncture 2-3 times on mana, and then work down bosses with ice shot.

What are your thoughts?
I'm lvl 69 in Beyond right now with current build:

I had to take some accuracy nodes or it would be to painful to play because of my dumpster gear. Using Infractem right now but not sure that's the optimal solution unless you have a Drillneck. You really need offensive nodes with Infractem from the start if you rely on one shotting everything to gain mana on kill.

IMO:
Don't take Point Blank
Don't need 3 dragons
Instead of DoT passives I'm going to scale the dmg with more crit
Rather use a high pdps bow than Infractem. Get that leech and incr deeps leaves more room for defensive nodes for HC.
@HarryBalzac: I think it looks good. I especially like how you skipped the 4 dex nodes up top between Acrobatics and the Evasion-cluster.
I like the extra movespeed and have actually taken the Harrier node as well.
As you know all the attack speed isn't exactly needed though, and you could train out of Ballistic Mastery (and the node below it). I'd also take the Hired Killer cluster for the life on hit (and HPs).
Interesting choice about the Voll's. Personally I wouldn't do it as it has no Evasion, but I can see what the PC on crit can do.

@Tisca: I disagree about the Point Blank. The +50% MORE really makes a difference. And on Beyond I find myself way too close to those beyond demons all the time anyway.
I agree on three dragon. It is only a nice to have.
I agree on the Dot Passives, but I'd advice on being careful with boosting crit multiplier too much. I entered one area with reflect mobs and it damned near killed me. As I see it HC-characters want stable damage so they know what they are dealing with. (Anyway, you seem to have tried to steer away from the worst crit multipliers).
I agree that a high pdps bow and pierce nodes with pierce as the 5th gem is better. But Infractem is just so damn cheap, and then you can save the pierce nodes until you can use/afford a good harbinger.

Might give Point Blank a try later if I get a nice new bow. Now with 100% pierce and having to stay far back I think it's more beneficial without.

Just feeling super squishy right now. I have capped resists and Grace. If I get two of those spawns with RT and swords at once on me I'm dead. Makes me want to re-roll an IR build.
Also need to improve my AS. It's so painfully slow right now, especially if you miss a shot and have to wait for the next attack. If you rely on mana on kill anyways and you're one shotting you should get all the AS you can.
Hey I've been playing the build and loving it! I've been farming piety since about level 63 (I'm level 71 now, and yes you can start that early with this build) and I feel like the build is just build to farm Piety. Ondar's Guille is great against titty bitches and it makes you immune to her ice form, and Puncture is great for getting around the resists that both Piety and Kole have. I had to skip on a lot of good dps nodes because I needed the strength and intellect nodes, but the DPS is still really good. The DPS is high enough already so I've added in an Aurseize and an Item Rarity gem to my puncture. Here's my current gear:

I'm using Atziri's Step because I am resist capped and I like the extra dodge. I'll probably switch to some life+resist boots if I decide to stack more damage, but honestly I never feel like I have a dps problem. Once my Reduced Mana gems level up a bit I want to put the Herald in my 5-link with reduced mana and start running Grace or Hatred (depending on the map). I have a couple exalts saved up and I can't decide whether it's time to switch to a Harbinger Bow and pierce nodes or just try and get a Lightning Coil to add more beef.

So I used your build all the way to level 56 so far. I will say it's the most overpowered build I've played so far and I've blown 80 exalts into a windripper crit build. This is ridiculous. I went into Beyond league with 28% fire res and immediately died to ele reflect. Stupid idea, but it was fun while it lasted... I expected it to happen with a tabula, but I don't regret playing it at all, so fun.

i tried my own non crit version using chin sol to stack on top of point blank.
