The grinding. That's what aRPGs are about. If your gear isn't sustainable for harder jumps in difficulty or zone level (or whatever equivalent in other games), you grind to farm better gear.

This is true of even the (far more casual) popular counterpart to PoE (which shall remain nameless).

Yup thats what i am explaining.
at some point we need stackable consumables to at least 100
For all the people arguing that the prices are too expensive/cheap or whatever, might want to educate yourselves a bit and get a certificate of outstanding achievement in the field of common sense please.

A. GGG know the exact rate needed on average to 4L,5L,6L, or 3-4-5-6 off-color or socket an item. They have stated categorically that the prices listed to do these guaranteed are slightly above the average that it would take to randomly do this. Your empirical observations of "Well I six-off colored my Shavs in 100 chromatics so the price of 4 for 245 is outrageous" just show that you were the benefactor of being on the good side of RNG. Having played millions of hands of poker and experiencing ridiculous swings of luck where I've literally won every hand including my one out draws to quads, and having lost hands that is almost statistically impossible to lose, its easier to step back and see just how much chance is involved in the process of creating some of the end-game combinations. The fact that they are allowing these crafting options shows that GGG is aware of some of the problems of using this system entails, and they have had the foresight to make it more expensive to guarantee a particular result to ensure the stability of the value of currency, and also to make sure the casual players have the chance to gain endgame items without having to risk their entire stock of currency to do so and not achieve a result. The point is though, to say it is too cheap or too expensive is something that you can base off of your opinion on how common these items should be, but not off of observations that you've made about the crafting rate, because the rate is exactly where GGG thinks it should be given their goal.

B. If you don't like it then stay clear of it. There is nothing forcing you to use the new systems, and many of the game wealthy players will likely be forgoing their use to link and color their higher end items. My personal opinion of the A section is that end-game content is meant to be just that. The definition of casual ensures that you will not attain end-game gear if you don't play in end-game content extensively, and that is the way a game should be. It is truly a game where their is something for everyone, you can just play the amount of time that you have, and you'll end up in power relatively in the position where you should be when you compare the power and gear of your character to the time that you've played. This patch just ensures that you are much more likely to end up exactly in that place that you should along this spectrum.
This is a really good feature, I don't get a massive amount of time to play but with costs replacing the chance aspect I feel like I can turn something lame into something wonderful over a short period of time. Hopefully this will lead to some good trade also.
Nice one , do I smell a dramatic increase of the currency drop rates in this expansion also ?

:D
I wonder how you pay the man 1500 fusings, when your stash can carry 1200 ???

I wonder the same thing!! 1 full stash tab fits 2800+ fuses. So half tab is around 1500. With 4 tabs as a starter there is obviously not enough space!!
