[2.1 Ghazzy - Summoner Guides] Low Budget Builds

Just hit 80 today I grabbed ZO aswell and im trying to 5l my no luck yet. Build is bunch of fun !

What's the advantage of going CI in this build over EB/Arctic Armor/ Mby MOM version (like mattc3303's build)?

CI is a cheaper version for chaos dmg immunity.. you will realize like i did that CI doesn't really do much for DPS. ( again not considering generosity )

also CI You are less focused on grabbing life nodes and can amp up minion dmg/life nodes along with max reduced mana resevation.. much more quickly/earlier

IT is about playstyle , your existing gear.

The more i get into SRS the more i realize that if you can properly position yourself and kite from offscreen you dont really need any zombies or skele meat shield...

I am guessing the arc totem here is to direct the skulls to kill the enemies so that you maintain the off screen distance .. ive noticed that if there arent any immediate monsters on screen the minions just wander and dont go in the front ... So the arc totem serves to direct the Skulls while you stay at a safe screen distance.

If that be the case have you considered using arc totem + curse on hit + weakness.

Without CI you could run Hatred instead of discipline though? I am trying to make this build work as MF, not going high mapping or atziri for a while. I was thinking of staying life based and drop discipline for hatred for more dps.

Then again, i am only low level. Maybe haste will be plenty to wreck everything? Any advice?

Due to SRS being temp-minions they do not change agro by anything i do. The spell-arc is there to provide Elemental Equilibrium and/or shock stacks (in best case).

The original idea was to 6l the spell totem with curse on hit with lvl 4 empower and lvl 4 enhance... however after seeing that it does not work i read up on wiki where it is explained why it does not work with spell totem or with minions that is. (Refering to Curse on Hit gem)

The difference in how many nodes you need to take to get enough HP compared to the ammount of nodes required to get enough ES is rather big.
Pros/cons:
HP = not immune to chaos dmg, but you can use HP potions
CI = immune to chaos dmg, but can not use HP potions


HP potions are not required with this type of build as we would benefit more from being positioned better, with the use of quicksilver flasks. And the other 3 will consist of 1 mana flask and 2 utility flasks that would in this case be resistance flasks. Whilst in a HP build you would have to put HP flasks in there and lose the utility as well as some extra nodes.

But again, in the end it's a matter of taste tbh. I prefer CI as it is easier to transition over to Low Life that is the ultimate goal than it is to transition over from HP build.

Neither of the heralds works with minions.

Thank you Ghazzy for this awesome Build its really enjoyable and fun to play.

Some thoughts on your HB tree:

- spending 3 points for 15% minion damage isn't worth it. Better spend 4 points for double curse.
- If you have 4 points to spend on faster casting, it's better to get a full 3%/3%/6% cluster and a 4% node than get all 4% nodes and one from the 3/3/6 cluster.
- Spending 5 points on 20% reduced mana cost of skills may be worse than 5 points on Dreamer + the 10%max/20% reg at witch start. Your mana drain for SRS is something like 240m/sec without VH and 300-370/sec with it. The 0.8 multiplier makes it 192/296. OTOH a L20 +26% effect arctic armor is 290m/sec. Reduced mana cost of skills doesn't help with with arctic armor, whereas max mana and mana reg does. I guess the 0.8 multiplier may be the most effective thing you can do once you get to really high cast speed on gear.

Also I'm only calculating about 3.3M DPS with perfect cast speed on gear, L28 spirit, and double curse EW+Flamm, EE, Flesh Offering, Vaal Haste, Hatred-Generosity, Haste against 0% res mobs. What's your secret to 8M DPS? ^^

Regarding the DPS calculation i got the spreadsheet from Simon_GGG on which Zerkersummoner gave me a calculated version.

The cast speed change is absolutely correct i'll make that change directly, thank you!
I regen 158 mana/sec atm and i can still not sustain SRS with Splash and my gear is still not optimal since i lack at least 2 cast speed nodes as well as proper cast speed on staff, rings, amulet.

Regarding Mental Fortitude vs more regen, I just had this tested and with my current gear it made me sustain SRS with splash slightly better. However it will be mandatory once i get more cast speed from my other gear pieces. The 0.8 multiplier doesn't change much evenwith high cast speed as the actual mana cost is rather low. From the looks of it going towards more mana regen as it is cheaper to reach in terms of nodes will be the best choice here. I don't think sustaining SRS with added fire will be a problem then either. And with splash i only use that for trio which i can keep up with mana flask spam as the bosses will drop like flies.


Edit: Missed to answer your first comment regarding 3 points for 15% dmg vs double curse:

Due to being forced to minimize every single little transition requiring spell in Uber Atziri fight i decided to remove the curse entirely (since curse on hit doesn't work) specially as atziri only recieves 60% effect of curses.
