hey, what do you think of this defensive setup?



Is it best to leave CWDT at level 1 or shoudl I level it so the IC doesnt override itself and reset a good 3 charge IC with a no charge IC?

There are alot of threads regarding CWDT taken, there are alot of possibilities to choose from.
I havent really tested it alot, so I do not dare to say what is best (lots of people keep the gems at low level). So I thikn your setup is fine (some people also use icewall on damage taken, something u could try out too, I have never tried that though)

cloak of defiance does make you more tanky, however IMO having a lavianga's is obligatory, or as someone else suggested: a vaal clarity (a cheaper but worse replacement for lavianga). Taking damage and therefor losing your incinerate stacks is something you really do not want to happen, therefor you will need this for the 'skills do not cost mana' effect

No quality reduced mana has no influence on the amount of mana reserved, something too few people know :)

little update^^

switched to claok of defiance and took alot of the aura nodes, dropped the shadow area of the tree for more survivability now im level 90 im not keen to die ><

gems not optimal yet and working on getting a better ring

steady hands + heart of oak seems a very strong combo with 55% to not be stunned actually increasing dps in tough situations when you want it most by not resetting your incinerate stages

dps is 3200 now compared to 4k before but using fire pen now instead of life leech

lfe is 3400, mana unreserved is 1500

might use alpha howl in really hard half regen maps

Have you thought about taking inner force or influence? Wouldn't the added benefit from IF be better than taking those 20% regens by the life and mana nodes?

Posted a couple weeks ago back when my character was level 40ish. Now I'm up to 71 I think and the build feels very strong. I had wanted to do a MF variant, so I have some decent gold rings with Rarity, Boots with rarity, IIR linked to my flame totem and incinerate, and Aurseize gloves bringing me to 156 IIR. Finding tons of rares and a good amount of Uniques while still getting the clear speed I need and max resists.

I took some more damage nodes than I should have earlier on. I still have to get 3-4 more levels so I can get the rest of the life nodes on the tree for the build, although I may grab more later if needed since Aurseize takes away a potential 150-250 hp.

I would recommend to everyone that once they feel they can survive pretty well to grab Static Blows and the other +10% shock node ASAP. They really help with your clear rate in Merciless.

I have taken inner force and influence in the past, but i did not consider them better than the life+mana regen nodes. If you have points left, then that would surely be what I would be taking alongside the 25% interupt resistance.

hey what do you think of this build? my current at level 91


I went for auras and more mana instead of the shadow area, i can now run discipline, clarity, haste and a life leech tempest shield and have 1500 mana unreserved for MoM


just got this bad boy and the 20% proj speed node + proj speed gem is awesome for clearing maps quickly and safely

a boosted haste makes up for the dps lost in the shadow area and now my mana is much better

sitting at 10.10 casts per second without 20% faster projectiles and still 16% aura effect to grab and level 18 haste

still mucking around with my ideal defensive setup, im going to level my CWDT + IC + EC + Inc duration a little higher and work on getting better rings because my light resist isnt capped and chaos is -27% now

50% block, 72% spell block, 3.5k life, level 20 AA

what do you think?

Also for more survivability i can use alphas howl with a purity of elements to make up for the lost three dragons resists or a high armour life resists helmet for hard melee bosses which you wont shock stack anyway

I have been able to shock stack the dry peninsula boss quite easily even on an enfeeble map but not been able to shock stack map vaal oversoul yet

Some questions:
1) I am constantly running 4 auras ( haste, clarity , discipline,and purity of elements or vitality + Arctic Armor ( mana after reserved only 200) but I have a lot of mana regen nd never have casting problem .. is it ok? My mana regen about 230 with auras
2)I have life leech linked with incinerate and Cybil's Paw at level 83 I can sustain Dominus in all phases without dying but I have to stay steady at level 3 incinerate for it and I need some flasks help .Do you think I can ridof life leech gem?
3) I have only 2000 dps on tooltip and I can understand how can I improve DPS without mining survivability ( nly 3200 hp without ES )
4) Cybil 's paw mechanics? Does it restore 20 hp for every hit done by incinerate with every mob?
5) can you seggest me how to arrange the 6 link on chest?

hey man, here is an update on my incinerator

i stopped using three dragons so i could run another aura and get more mana regen, now im using alphas howl, using added chaos instead of added lightning damage and the dps difference is negligible but against certain mobs the shock stacks do help alot, though most endgame bosses cant be shocked anyway so im actually doing more dps to them now and also bypassing energy shield while having higher eva 22% dodge chance @ lvl 91, cannot be frozen, +2 auras etc

my mana regen is at 507 hoping to get to atleast 550 with better rings and level 21 auras

AA level 20

block 50%
spell block 72%

life 3500
mana unreserved 1260 with those auras, when i get better rings i will run vitality instead of purity of elements, which means i can switc it out for purity of fire for hard crema boss or hard shipyard boss etc

when casting 55% to not be stunned which helps ALOT because MoM builds have lowish life and getting stunned was the main thing killing me vs hard bosses

next level my build is effectively finished with the 8% aura effect node, then i might focus on more dps or the other 1% life regen for about 70 life regen per sec which helps in chaos maps and corrupted blood a bit

frost wall with CoDT is the best for this build hands down, this build is all about minimising burst damage so frost wall, AA, high block, immortal call and MoM all come together to really make sure you dont receive high burst damage which will eventually get you killed in this game

all in all really fun to play, even 50% regen maps are easy i just switch out faster proj for mana leech and i can switch out purity of elements for purity of lightning verse map piety and torture chamber boss which helps immensely
