Granted, it was clever thinking by havoc to have thought of this bug. However, he clearly knew it was an exploit and that he was taking advantage of something that should not be happening, yet he kept mum about it and didn't post anything under bug reports. It was only after someone else found out about it and posted it on reddit that he finally started streaming again. He obviously knew that it was something that was dodgy enough and not meant to be streamed in the initial period.
I don't even play for a ladder placing, so this doesn't concern me personally. The only reason I'm even bothered about this whole issue is that if you take a look at the exp gain rates of the top party and compare that to the previous number one - etup:
http://poestatistics.com/users/havoc6/hva.html
http://poestatistics.com/users/franzkafka/rilkeisrilke.html
http://poestatistics.com/users/etup/birdtup.html
You can clearly see the discrepancy in terms of exp gain. On one hand we had etup who was apparently diligently leveling using a legit build with some of the most op gear in the server (so diligently that he was tired enough to fall asleep!), and was only able to manage half the exp rate of the top party, such was their map clear speed and their ability to trivialise the supposedly difficult end-game content because of this exploit.
I wouldn't go so far as to demand banning them or rolling back their characters. I am disappointed that GGG didn't fix it earlier, but I don't know how difficult it is to fix - it may be that it is a complicated bug and is time-consuming to fix. My only motive for stirring up this drama (which would likely have happened anyway without my help), which I don't do very often (as Charan has observed) is to undermine whatever feelings of achievement or triumph these players in question might be feeling after having achieved level 100, and hopefully give some food for thought to the next person thinking of exploiting a bug secretly to the top of the ladder.
It may work, it may not work - they may have the skin of a hippopotamus, but the community on the whole at least doesn't seem to be very impressed with this 'tainted' achievement, and that's good at least.

This is what exactly came to mind... No build will ever achieve that sort of damage.. The sort of damage that makes 78 maps a cakewalk...
I mean the dude walked up to the boss and it just evaporated.

Henceforth this will be known as the Etup test. If you're levelling more efficiently than Etup, there's a rebuttable presumption that you're using an illegitimate exploit.

whats interesting is that etup's exp time is much lower than the other 2. however, if it were something like 12-16 hours a day and hes doing high maps non stop- it would be hard to noticeably beat that rate.

I think most of the community will agree with you on this subject, and also as a twitch streamer, he should have known to post this in the bug section.
It's not like some random guy accidentally came up with this. And is just playing for the lolz. This is a person who competes for the top ladder position and he should have known the effect's this bug allowed where not intentional (to say the least). and as such should have posted this in the bug section, or if possible directly to GGG staff themselves, as to not expose the bug to the community. Then wait for a response and then continue.
I find it sad to see such a top player result to these actions in order to win.
There is no honor in this victory.

Actually i noticed it differently. I would say that Etup's exp time on most days when he was at level 97/98 (compare equal levels for a fairer comparison) was longer than Havoc's exp time at 97/98.
Here's one of the more striking differences:
If you look at Etup on the 21/12/2013 for instance - he gained 35 mill exp in 11 hours as level 97. On the 5/1/2014, Havoc gained 65 mill exp in 4 and a half hours.
Granted, Etup may have just been doing low level maps that day or something as his exp rates in the days after improved. But stillm it was no where near Havoc's.

Didnt etup rip, TWICE at 97+ during Nemesis? Or was it just once?
ETUP would have been 100 like 3 weeks before this frank guy even existed up there.

Etup is not innocent either. He publically advertised a forbidden trade macro on his stream for weeks.
