" Sure it would've been made public somehow, but my point is that by streaming, people have hard evidence to accuse them with. Mostly people are disappointed (like yourself) based on the fact that they exploited. But if you're just looking at blank stats? You'd have no proof that they did. edit: changed quote to shorten the post. Last edited by byzrk#5403 on Jan 16, 2014, 7:21:58 PM

" True in some sense. I am fairly sure GGG has a max xp/hour ratio, and could easily spot people that exceed that ratio and take actions accordingly. Take invalesco's post. He knew something was off just by comparing the top ladder players xp/hour ratio. And he has even more limited info then GGG themselves. In some sense it could have been handled by GGG in-house sort of speak. imo people are judged upon there actions. This thread is no exception to that rule. (also GGG does not need hard evidence to take action :), they own your account and your characters ass, and can do with it as they see fit) Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" Are you really comparing speed running a single player game to exploiting a 'competitive' multiplayer one? Exploits are explicitly part of the rule set of speed running, and add to the skill involved in getting a faster run. Having near infinite damage in an aRPG detracts from the skill involved in clearing content efficiently and is clearly outside of what the majority of people playing the game understand to be the game's ruleset, even if there's no explicit rule against it from the developers. The number of people in this thread saying that it's fine because GGG didn't have a rule against it is fucking alarming. Do you people not steal in real life only because there are laws against it? Do you not have any sense of morality? Yeah, it's just a game, but you still need to have a sense of what's right and wrong. RMT is harmful to the game regardless of whether there's a rule against it. Using a bug to get from 89 to 100 in 30 days is the same thing. Have a think about the kind of game you want to play and modify your behaviour accordingly. I'm not saying that they should be banned or anything, my problem is with the attitude that leads someone to discover a game breaking bug and use it. I would like to play a game where the instinct of top players is to not use it and for involvement of the devs to not be necessary. @UnfairMonopoly

" This isn't the first time and it won't be the last. It feels like they're stumbling around in the dark here and I really don't like the way they drive this damn game. |

Was well known bug and two options:
use it and stick your rank/win ladder dont use it and lose your rank. If you competitive, choice is obvious. Funny dying saved me from be shamed. Sad ggg cant make hot fixes for that sort of bugs, maybe just remove cod from game in hot patch until it fixed. Also funny how ggg fixed cleave and forgot about dual strike( basically you add dps of your one weapon to other and on top of that get bonus from dualwield attack speed, even buffed 2h do less damage) And it was exploit of shitty balance from start of league :D Last edited by LendoKaar#1071 on Jan 17, 2014, 12:27:22 AM

" See what happens when GGG spends more time on reddit? They miss posted bug reports!
Spoiler
Also, sad to see the community turn toxic over this affair. Rectify, damage control mode pls pls! :(
The community wants Havoc strung up on a pole like in the terraces corpses, then thrown under the bus. POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!

" I understand what you are saying, however, i don't know if it's 'wrong or right'. Arent you as much offended offended by: -People 6Linking with 40 fusings? Isn't it against the spirit of the game to have RNG breaking the gereral rule saying: you shall 6L me with an average use of 1000fus, or whatever the number was. - People finding Mirrors? - Players using XXXX stash/guild tabs to their advantage (How is the poor going yo compete properly?) I know you have probably an answer for these, that's why i will finish with one you can't answer, arent you as much offended as you are with exploiting explois in a competitive multiplayer game, by: - You have to PARTY to compete for the first place! Is this an ARPG or an MMORPG? As you can see even LendoKaar would and will exploit. http://wideo.co/view/449781379368063514-inexs-journey-for-the-8-stars (Music: Odd Look)

" Yeah, all those things actually do annoy me a lot, but those are conscious design decisions made by the devs and they don't ruin an otherwise good game. I'd rather that acquiring mirrors and 6Ls were just as rare but less dependent on rng, but I don't have a solution. This bug was unintentional, and while people using it doesn't change the way I play the game at all, I do find it concerning that people are happy to exploit bad programming to gain such a huge advantage, unless they're told not to. I find it surprising Lendo has that attitude, considering he's actually good at the game and isn't afraid to do difficult content without cheesy tactics. I think it'd be good if there was an advantage gained by playing solo that was appealing, but I can't think of anything particularly good, so I'm not really offended that GGG can't, or won't. Havoc wasn't playing the game when he was using the bug, he was lightning warping around rooms while everything instantly died, including bosses. It's just not something people who want to be the 'best' should be doing. This game doesn't take much skill to begin with, removing it entirely just defeats the purpose of playing completely. It'd be like clipping out of bounds in a multiplayer FPS and fragging people who can't see or shoot you. I think everyone would vote kick someone doing that... @UnfairMonopoly
