Names should be wiped as well tommorow.

I think it's pretty much unfair to all the new-coming players that the names would not be wiped as well. For many people (as to myself) picking a name is quit an important choice role playing wise. Now imagine the frustration when a fresh out of the closed beta game - that just had it's final wipe - comes out. And the waves of thousand new players comes in.
And it turns out every single memorable/popular/desired name is already taken by the tons of the closed beta players... I am just saying it's not very fair and not a fair start. per aspera ad astra

Well thats just not going to happen.

I disagree. Players have grown accustomed to their character names by now. Since GGG began selling early access everybody had a fair chance to reserve his preferred names during the closed beta.
In addition, Chris has all the best names anyway. Disregard witches, aquire currency.

either your name is really original and/or obscure and will thus probably not be taken until you do so yourself, or your suggestion changes nothing since the same amount of people will not be able to choose the name they want.
additionally, it will make room for a ton of stupid people who think impersonation makes them seem cool. its fine the way it is. Last edited by Glull#6891 on Jan 22, 2013, 11:06:59 AM

If we're going that route, then why not reset forum names, too?

A name wipe would be nice a certain amount of time after OB starts for inactive accounts.
If an account hasn't been active for awhile, and since OB still only has level 1's on it I think wiping the names off it would be good. I'll leave the time frame on that up in the air. |
