My character, "majorgarenfanboyggson" died due to this bug and wasn't restored, anyway I can email support and get a fix?

I do have to say I'm amazed that through 18 pages of posts there was not a single standard/domination player who died to this bug asking for the xp they lost to be restored as well.
They either knew enough to stay away from Queens, know it won't get fixed, or who knows, managed to not get murdered by them.

Well the softcore characters would have kept playing and gained/lost items. The restore would have restored traded items and removed the experience the characters gained after dying the first time to them. When a hardcore character dies nothing in the league really changes.

I wonder what would happen if the dead HC characters gave away/traded their loot when hitting standard and then got restored.
It is a better stance for the community to allow character resets to happen.
Especially if they are the result of a serious game flaw.

What do you think would happen, if hundreds or thousands of players became bugged / unplayable, as a result of a bug?

There would be community outcry.

And your alleged stance would be "Sorry, $hit happens. Deal with it" ???
That is poor community relations, something that I know GGG does not want to happen.

I'm glad you decided to do character resets, as the result of a game flaw.
Props to you.

This was a really, really, really bad idea. Did you guys at GGG think this through? Do you know what you just started?

Didn't you say you'll never ever restore dead hc characters no matter what killed them? Not a man of your word are you. When people died on dc after entering instance (still on server even with client crashed) you only said sorry guys, deal with it.
So when you bringing PtWin model?

I had multiple HC chars die to the bug and stopped playing HC cause of it, was quite frustrated but I don't wish the same misfortune to the people in this bug. I would suspect the DC bug is much harder to catch on their logs to see who died to it unlike this one. I'm glad their chars were restored, this was some f'd up sht
I am hoping they can restore my character after I deleted it after the death. :[.

I died cuz your well designed game crashed or desync. Where is my restoration ?

You either restore characters who die from ALL bugs not just one bug you decide, or either fuck all of them and let them rest in scrubcore and reroll.

Get real.

Yeah, *my* character isn't getting restored, so I'm going to cry now and try to bring down the whole ship.

Good one.

they "started" nothing. They made a call based on the available information and it was theirs to make. Don't expect it in the future, unless a similar GGG-side error rears its head.

Players/people need to stop crying (from one side or the other). It's done, no "new" can of worms was opened etc. It was a one time decision. There might be another "one time" decision in the future, based off of something different. But each case has its particulars.

We all make mistakes, and it's nice when we're given the opportunity to make up for it. That's what happened here and regardless of anyone's "personal views" (mine included) on the matter, GGG took the time and made the difficult decision to make up for one of their mistakes, that affected a small number of ppl who died (in nemesis) through no fault of their own.

Well done GGG, as with the Nugiyen situation, you made the right call.
