By that logic, every content patch is an expansion, because they all expand on the game in some way. Thats obviously ridiculous, and isn't remotely accurate. Large content patches(which expand the game) are large content patches. Thats how its always been.

How many content patches we've had so far? How many new acts? Oh, right, zero new acts. You know why? Because they were content patches, not expansions.

Also just keep quoting me out of context, obviously there's no other way for you to try and refute a solid argument.

Yes, it is definitely an expansion. In expands the game by adding new
acts and major features. Case closed.

Indeed, we know. :) But he's too stubborn and too butthurt to admit it. He just keeps projecting his insecurities onto us. The marketing genius, with rhetoric so sophisticated and eloquent that you "don't understand a word", you're too primitive for his grandeur. Ha!
Are the damage over time changes included in this patch like was stated? (viper strike, poison arrow, etc)
All these changes make it feel like you have to play in a group to get anywhere. You can already pool resources for maps, get far more increased rarity from players (not to mention diminishing returns on MF gear making this rarity SO MUCH MORE VALUABLE), and with the increase to cost in auras...sharing auras has become far more powerful.

When mob health per person was increased, that felt like good balance. When spork damage was nerfed, that felt like good balance. I like encouraging build diversity but not at the expense of solo play. I don't mind being "encouraged" to play in a group...but I don't wanna feel punished for playing solo.

Map only uniques feels like a huge punishment to solo play. Solo play should take longer to get the items groups get, but not feel completely impossible to attain in comparison.

The only advantage I get from solo play is I don't get the stupid lag/desync from other players. That is poor game design.

Purity's nerf is actually deserved since everyone was using it.

Everyone is also using clarity, should it be nerfed too?

I get this "adapt to the situation" thing, but being able to swap through all three gems? No way, unless you keep additional gear with specific sockets always in the inventory. Or stacks of chromes :P

Now it these new gems were colorless, otoh...

Many people are complaining about the Purity change, but I completely support this change. It's extremely hard to balance content when players have wildly varying amount of base resist. Just consider in open beta: you could have +5% max resist from elemental adaptation, +5% with a Purity buffed with inner force. You'd be taking 15% elemental damage, compared to everybody else taking 75% without the same setup. That's 60% of the total damage. Balancing elemental damage with such huge disparities becomes immensely difficult. Anything that is hard for the 85% res character will basically one shot a 75% res character, and anything that's hard for a 75% res character is a joke for an 85% res character.

It's much more balanced now. Elemental adaptation is 2%, and purity is 2% max res, or 3% if you get increased effect on the buff. Taking 20% damage is only a 20% damage reduction compared to 25% damage. This makes it much easier to balance content in general, and allows players to make more meaningful (and not completely necessary) choices. If you want to protect yourself against elemental damage, then get purity and/or elemental adaptation. It sure helps, but you still need to care about elemental damage.

Right, so now, a full party, where it is most unlikely that any one player will take damage from even a quarter of the monsters on the screen can have + whatever to every element.

And a solo player, WHO IS TARGETED AND ATTACKED BY EVERY SINGLE MONSTER, until one party is dead, can pick one element in place of purity. And needs 3 pieces of swappable gear to accommodate.

Yup, balance at its best.
Casually casual.

Nerfing Purity again... how do i get my max resists now :(

Join a group, of course.

The same way you get your max damage and protection from multiple auras.

This release is now beyond a joke.

Path of Grouping! :D
Ya, this game is honestly wayyyy harder for solo play, especially with my voltaxic crit build. Since I use Blood magic, auras don't exist for me, and since i need SO much crit chance/dmg for the build to work, my only defense nodes are life. So if i'm not in a group that has grace and/or determination, i'll be relying completely on doing my best to physically run out of harms way of everything. It's like night and day with solo and group play. Feels like 2 completely different builds honestly.

You're arguing against the history of the gaming industry to defend the game you like. Thats really all there is to it. You have no "solid argument", and have been completely ignoring the explanations provided.

Also, I haven't quoted you out of context at all. You have been disgustingly insulting and degrading in this thread.
To those arguing semantics of words: please stop. This thread is an opportunity for players to offer feedback to GGG regarding the upcoming changes. As a player, I'd appreciate it if that feedback could not be diluted by an unrelated argument over word semantics.

Feedback on the changes:
I'm not a hardcore player. I do manage to get about 10 hours of play in a week (which seems like a bunch to me). I enjoy Path of Exile but lately the impression I'm getting is that each patch nerfs the game, making it harder and more of a grind. Perhaps that is the intent, since it is Grinding Gear Games, after all, but it's causing the game to be less fun for me.

I started fresh in the Domination league on 1.0.0 release day. Since then, I've found 3 chaos orbs and 3 uniques (2 of them were today). Progress has felt slow and I hit a wall in Act 3 Normal with both characters I've created in Domination. I don't expect the game to shower me in uniques, orbs and easy progression, but I also like to feel a risk/reward balance strong enough to keep me playing.

When the Anarchy league started, I enjoyed the fresh league and felt like I made good progress in the new league. I was able to find enough currency to start trading in about a week in Anarchy. At this time, I don't bother opening the trade window in Domination league as my 3 chaos aren't going to get much of anything.

I play almost entirely solo. I've been playing since Open Beta started in January. In that time, I've had one character make it to level 73 and be able to do maps. However, that character was not strong enough to solo maps.

It didn't seem this way to me in the past, but now I find myself agreeing with other gamers that say the changes are anti-solo play.

The nerfs to Magic Find, Auras and the gating of powerful uniques all hurt the solo player much more than players that group. Of course grouping is an option to everyone, so it becomes a choice.

I'd like to provide more constructive feedback than this post as I work out the details more. In short, the reward for the grind doesn't feel sufficient anymore.

Thanks for considering our feedback!

What's at the end of the video? Some kind of jumping puzzle that you need to use Leap Slam for?

Ah yea, almost forgot about that one between all the complaining :D

It didn't seem like a puzzle, since in a game like this, you could simply traverse all possibilities, depending on it's size. It looked quite interesting and made me curious... but we will see, just 1-2 days to go :)
