Upcoming patches and race events

Forgot to mention that I'd want the next 1 week HC event to be turbo with partying, if not, solo with trade. I'll be skipping normal and trade disabled events.

Can we get some new info on open beta please? I would really want it to be next month because i wont have much time left to play it if it wont be :(

HIGLANDER RACE !
Every one can start in this mode. - Hardcore - Cut-throat - Once somebody dies he can't join league with other characters. - People who don't join league on time or they play less than 2h a day are auto kicked. - Week long - If there will be players at week end, game will auto drop them in same instances as hostile characters. Also Town Portals can lead you to other higlander portals making you fight. - The only living Highlander will achieve forum status "Highlander" |

As usual, PvE will always be the main draw of a game like this. If PvE doesn't work properly, or doesn't stay interesting, the game will have a small audience.
If they were to stop focusing on PvE, the main reason people play these sort of games, particularly when the game still has balance issues so close to open beta, it would simply be detrimental to the game's success. Besides, Chris stated interest in running cut-throat events. Most of it probably comes down to priorities. Btw, permanent HC turbo league ftw. |

Week long solo events need trading. Otherwise you will end up having to make multiple characters just to get skill gems.

First, make a basic pvp tournament to balance the pvp system... then you start thinking about cut-throat...
I kinda agree with every single word Dimes said... disable trading in short solo races, and make a 1 week solo turbo hardcore. Most people plays solo, so the results you get for party races are not trustfull about the real challenge of this mode. Another idea I would suggest is 1 week 2h World Leveling Record. Allowing people to create a toon from any class for 1 week long, and once you join the game, the timer starts ending 2h after. End results would be placed in ladderboard by experience. So, in the end of the week, we could have an official "World Record" for 2h lenght. Also, trading and stash shouldnt be allowed between toons (or people would just farm stuff , storage and get advantage every new attempt) This race mode would give a LOT of fun for one week, and if people see a class that has a low level in the ladder, they would just try to roll that class in the new attempt trying to improve the results. EDIT: This would be an awesome idea aso for a permanent race league... you would achieve all those casual players around and make them really happy. Trade: personally in a 1-4h race it wouldn't really matter because finding someone to trade with and the trading itself takes alot of time, but as an example on a week long solo race it should be restricted.
Turbo: A really nice challenge, I think the "Fetid Shambler" (tar ghouls) need a bit more move speed. Also Brutus a bit op. Race ideas: Iron Skin 30% more Armor and 15% more life More Turbos' are really welcome, too. |

I really prefer the week long events. I also prefer party events. I like to be a good sport, no matter what the rules, but I keep finding myself making excuses to *miss* solo events. However, I really only am making a comment today because I am freaked out that the next event might be a one week solo cut throat. *IF* you want to turn me off completely, go ahead, but I cannot think of an event more likely to fail. Imagine a few hours in and you been beat to crap by RNG, you really think you will go a week just to be a 'good sport'? *F* that.
Cut Throat is suitable for short events where fun for all is abound. A week long event? I imagine griefing and whining much more than normal. Please do not make a week long solo event ever. Please do not make a week long cut throat event ever. That is my vote. |
