Nazi symbol in map. (Place were you get chest is in the shape of a swastika)
" Actual, it still does, little people called neo Nazis go about about parading that symbol and spray it everywhere, them trying to be there own little party. And if you think its ok, draw it in school, spray it everywhere, and but up posters with the symbol and wright under it "good luck" and see how well that works out. In fact do it in public to see what happens, and then see if you can say it is accepted for what it used to mean. I still remember the beta-key timer.

In that context, which definitely not the case in PoE.
And yes, some countries are stupid about this, so what? Wear that sign in India and nobody will perceive it as a nazi reference. ✠ ✠ Last edited by wiggin#5896 on Nov 2, 2012, 12:20:03 PM

Symbolism holds weight. If it doesn't matter to you, personally, well great. It doesn't matter to me either, because I realize that taking up someone else's causes rarely ever accomplishes anything. Still makes me roll my eyes when I see a mistake like this, because guess what's going to happen?
drama, drama, drama. For that very simple reason I interpret this as a mistake, a careless oversight, maybe the dev in question just didn't know. (edit: changed that wording, one of the words I used there has a pretty negative connotation, this better says what I had in mind) It'll get changed pretty quick, because no rational organization wants to deal with this kind of BS. Now, we might as well curb the philosophical debates, and just wait until Rhys modifies that tileset. He probably already has. This issue is already dead; I'm willing to bet it got fixed yesterday. -- I don't have alpha access, that was a LONG time ago. Last edited by Zakaluka#1191 on Nov 2, 2012, 5:48:00 PM

This thread is absolutely retarded and should be locked.
My little tribute to Diablo 1 aka why Diablo 3 is the worst part of the series.

" And its our job to post these mistakes, which was what the point of this thread. but then the people who AREN'T looking for problems/errors came on and stated a political debate. I WAS JUST POSTING SCREEN SHOTS OF A THING PEOPLE MAY FIND OFFENSIVES! THAT'S ONE OF THE THING BETA TESTERS DO! I still remember the beta-key timer.

my criticism isn't in any way directed towards you, clay. It's a good thing you pointed this out, otherwise we'd have to deal with it in January. There'd be a much larger audience, then. Just don't try to defend any kind of moral ground on this issue, since it's pointless.
I'm fairly amazed by the ongoing argument here, and the moral viewpoints getting thrown around. They don't matter; politics and morality stay out of business. The symbol will be removed so this doesn't happen again. I can see the future. -- I don't have alpha access, that was a LONG time ago. Last edited by Zakaluka#1191 on Nov 2, 2012, 2:59:21 PM

On matters of taking offense, I have a somewhat radical opinion. Nothing is inherently offensive, you are responsible for choosing whether or not you want the be offended. To simply take offense and blame the so-called offender is not only irresponsible, but it is also denying that you are in control of yourself. I'm only mentioning this because I too think the moral debate going on is pretty b.s. I otherwise agree with:
" Devolving Wilds
Land “T, Sacrifice Devolving Wilds: Search your library for a basic land card and reveal it. Then shuffle your library.” |

have to support ClaySoldier in this matter as there are already games which got banned in germany for having swastika levels or symbols ingame.
you can complain about it but many people in germany and europe in general are really sensible when it comes to our nazi past which we aren't really done with yet. f.e. : http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2009/09/wolfenstein-recalled-from-german-stores/ http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Easter_egg as this game has a lot of german supporters a ban in germany would be very counter productive for the support if it comes to the attention of authorities here. on the other hand i don't know if they can ban a free online game as they did with numerous offline games (wolfenstein, doom) and a scandal surely would bring this game a lot of attention in blogs and newspapers around germany. but common british tongue says a game is only really worth it's price if it's banned in germany :-) offline

Kinda sad people are (in the opinion of posters here) so stupid to potentially rage or cry over this. It's a rather logical geometry for level randomization.
Also, this likely wouldn't run afoul of European Nazi symbol bans in Europe. What's next, people calling for the removal of the dead babies on the Strand? |
