Yeah, nobody stays young forever. And people like youth. Hard to cope if you are an ageing singer. You can call it 'bad work' but the truth is we simply like younger singers better. At least I do. But I don't mind listening to some old records of Madonna - like, I don't turn off radio if they play her. Anyway I only noted it because it is not the same case, to point out the difference.

And I kinda like the fact she does what she does. She has enough money to quit afaik but she will rather do what she likes, right? And if she shocks people, it's only good. People need to be regularly woken up from apathy. Without it people stop caring and become mindless sheep following bullshit they are told in TV, easier to rule.
