So any existing bows will basically be garbage due to the buff of new bows?

I'm interested to see how this will change/obsolete existing bows. I realize that existing rolled bows will not be changed, but if new rolled bows can now get higher stats, it will make an entire game of bows obsolete? Or am I missing the point?

That's not how I understood it. He said bows will receive buffs from the 2h damage mods (passive tree) and they will be getting implicit mods. Implicit mods require a blessed orb to re-roll.

I assume it's like when they buffed the physical damage on belts, so all you will need is one blessed orb to 'update' your bow.
Highlights for me: Doubled loot on Merciless boss runs!, Item Rarity bias over Quantity in groups!, easier to link sockets! (I hope the new 4L and 5L % chances also mean it will be that much easier to find them already linked in the wild).

Suggestion for auras: I haven't looked too closely at them in a while, but I remember their range being very small. You had to be standing very close to the player generating the aura in order to get the effect. If this is still the case, please increase the aura effect radius!

Looking real good, GGG!
I love EVERY single one of those changes. I love you GGG. Even when things seem grim and you are getting really frustrated - GGG comes along and fixes that stuff. Can't wait the release, too bad I will have to work 2x more for a week or so after the launch, but eh, I will still find time for this amazing game!

as I read auras , I though : "Yes they will improve the auras" and then I read and I really don't like it , Auras are so expensive right now especially when you level them.
My ES-mage is very poor on mana with just Clarity and Discipline so I use now a Lv.1 Discipline.
And on my Phys-mage I already skill mana to get another aura and its not enough (ok she already has 4 but you loose a ton of mana with this kind of builds.)
Or.. Here is a more specific question.

Will the changes to bows, make an existing Voltaxic or Lioneye's Glare obsolete?

Exactly. I already spent about 8 passive points to get more mana and mana regen just to be able to run the auras I do use. Now I need even more passive points to get the reservation costs down?

Where's the balance? All this is is a nerf to auras.

Highly doubtful. It will probably make a Lioneye's even more powerful, since it will get 2H damage mods from the passive tree. Since Lioneye's is pure physical, and physical damage mods seem to be everywhere, it will buff nicely.

Vindictive... I am starting to understand better I think. So if they add a implicit to the base type, say Imperial Bow, as you said a blessed and it's updated.

And the other changes will be in the skill tree to add bows to the 2H damage nodes? This will really change the structure of bow user trees. I like this.

Yes, that was how I understood what they said. I am not sure if they will add the implicit stat to existing bow types or introduce new bow types. Either way, I'd expect unique bows to remain powerful.

Probably.

Lioneye's will be stuck with it's fixed +10-20/15-200% or so physical damage mods or whatever it has, while all bows post 1.00 will be able to have stronger mods(probably up to 300% physical and flat damage 40-60 at best rolls).
