What's happening when Anarchy/Onslaught leagues end?

it will be hard since it's wrong.

I really am not excited about many of your announcements Chris. I'm not going to go into great detail because many others have already done so. Since I started "re-playing" in June or July from a year's break in closed beta I've done so in standard to make up for the time lost in lieu of jumping in onslaught or anarchy because I didn't want to learn the game there. I'm just one example but this will be the thought process of many of the "new" people you hope to attract with release.

Now imagine the disappointment and/or frustration with these newcomers when they realize the standard league they've decided to play in really is nothing more than a dumpster for the current leagues and leagues to come. When they realize they will never have some items the relationship could end quickly in turn removing any future sales from the shop to this person and or his friends.

I would recommend rethinking some of the points you've posted.

I know for me, should I continue to play, it's clear there is no sense wasting anymore time in the standard league as it will never be what the temp leagues are nor will the experience.

My plan was to start up in the new leagues once they are released however I'm very disappointed in what this announcement means for standard league.

Rogue Exiles will start to spawn in all leagues (including Race events) at around 60% of the rate that they appear in Anarchy. They have been rebalanced.

Not to sound like a derp, but does this also include standard and hardcore leagues? If so, that would be really awesome to have random powerful rogue exiles wandering about causing mayhem to you!
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.
While I'm otherwise excited for the league merge, and the upcoming replacements for Anarchy / Onslaught, I'm concerned about the decision to have those league uniques be "grandfathered only". Because of this, if I can't afford them immediately, I'll *never* be able to afford to trade for one, because their supply will never increase (barring GGG re-introducing them to the game later) and inflation will take over from there.

Given that I was looking forward to using some of these uniques for builds that I had planned, it looks like I'll have to scrap those build ideas. It mattered less to me when Silverbranch's legacy versioned retained their +2 to bow skills after the nerf, because you could still roll +2 bow skills on rare bows lategame. Making certain novel / build-enabling uniques wholly unaccessible to people like this is just disappointing.

@GGG (a couple of things people seem to agree on)
You should not remove new league uniques save for maybe 1 or 2 specific to a certain reoccurring league maybe, and that there is really no reason to keep legacy items in games, either you change all of the items or do not change them at all.

This being said, in the current state of this game the last thing you need to do is nerf life builds again. If Kaoms needs to be changed, it honestly needs to be buffed because as the "best" chest for HP characters it still lacks in comparison to less expensive ES chests with high resists on them, and that's before you consider the fact that they can be six link. This means that not only is a Kaoms worse for overall survivability than ES chests, but it is also more boring due to the fact that you cant fit in a lot of interesting or effective skills once you are out a 6Link.(this forces you to either use a 2 handed weapon with your Kaoms, or put your main attack into a 4L item which is another terrible drawback to the Kaoms) As a Melee life build, I still believe that the "melee buff patch" that was released was an CI buff once everything was said and done(they lost considerably less of their pool than life, and I lost actual and maximum resists). The Aura fix was something that needed to happen, but that also weakened all life builds a TREMENDOUS amount. I went from about 16k dps to around 11k.(6Link lioneyes RoA) keep in mind this also did nothing to CI builds. The nerf to iron reflexes was another very large nerf to most life builds. This also did not affect CI builds. BEFORE all of these things happened CI and ES was considered preferable to life I do not think CI needs to be nerfed. I just think you need to realize that if you want to nerf kaoms which is obviously a nerf to only life based builds, you need to give it something else to compensate, like resists or sockets, and/or just fix life itself it is already underpowered it needs buffs not nerfs.

-Hopefully you will consider these facts and take a different approach to life adjustments because I believe you are losing players because of it, as a player using a Kaoms, Prism guardian(for 7 auras) a Soul Taker and a Thunder-Fist for my main attack and vry good rares I know there is basically no gear in the game that can get you comparable to the better CI or Shav Gear sets. Thank you for your consideration
i like legacy items, always have in every game i played.

i stand to benefit a great deal from it, but it definitely doesn't entice new players

Generally speaking, numeric nerfs to items don't apply to old ones.

good to hear that kaoms wont get nerf only new one will.
I don't understand why folks are bugging about legacy items.

It reminds me of when Magic the Gathering was new and you could get Mox's and Black Lotus'. People had to have them, they built just about any deck around them. Then they were banned from tournaments. You could still use them in house games but they were never reprinted.

People also built plague rat decks, they were fast and frequently won. Then the rules were changed and you could only have 4 of any kind of card in your deck. People mumbled and grumbled over the changes but it forced them to explore new options.

Every so many months new cards would come out and other cards were never reprinted. It kept the game fresh and people explored new ideas.

I am seeing a very similar tact here and I think all these outbursts and complaints are really based on the fact that people hate change.

You are aware that all the life nodes in the passive tree were reduced in effectiveness in large part due to the existence of Koams right?
