This seems like a selective vision issue.
There are doctors out there for that, you know.

PoE minions have always been like d3 charger zombies. You summon them and they make a beeline away from you as quickly as possible.

So now they receive the most substantial buff imaginable. To compensate for this it's now more difficult to keep a massive summon count. Describe this a "only nerfs".

Does not follow. The nerf doesn't even halfway compensate for the buff.

Only makes pointless drama from speculation.

Yes ive read that and i said that teleporting them with you doesn't make up for how much they gonna lose as for the AI "buff" i want to see that live then i can comment coz its true that now they dumber then sheeps and it would help a lot, if they will be worth something in combat bcoz it doesn't matter that they will get to enemy if they will get insta-killed after.
The AI for zombies is a buff for sure. They will now prioritize enemies close to you instead of running out to find a target. Targeting enemies closer to you means that they should get to them more quickly as well as helping to protect you.
Priorityzing other targets is one thing, but will they react to enemies fast enough?
I mean up until now it wasnt just that they pick wrong targets, it took them ages to target anything at all.

As a side note, minions on live are actiolly very strong, they just dont fight for most of the time. And minion instability is so strong it will defenetly require nerf when minion Ai start to work properly.

Having 15 minions blow up into your face in pvp each for even 500 hp is a serious pain.
I have runes, potions and total disregard of public safety.

I welcome all the changes (except the MF removal from some equips, while I see the reasons behind that) but I was hoping for at least one new minion skill since this was supposed to be "The minion patch".
Got beta key on 15/11/2011, thanks dave01

Are caster minions and ranged minions even planned to be added?

By planned i mean for sure at some point, not as a possiblitity?
I have runes, potions and total disregard of public safety.
right now i have lv 58 witch that i only use skullys on and i love them and like the new skully count nerf of only having 6 out with a max of 12 form passives, that said what i dont like is only getting out 2 at a time. for me they are there to hold argo and let me cast my spells and they do a good job it if they all stay together and fight. but if i have to cast only 2 at time it seems that one or two may get wiped out before i can even get them all up and i dont want to just be spaming them all the time and not my spells, so why cant we just have them get summoneds as they are now in small groups of 4 or all 6 at once so they can go to work and i dont have to worry about them for 30 sec.

on the display of sockets being turned off....i think it should be up to the player, even with the sockets on i see the art work just fine, what i think would be a better way to do this is just have u see the sockets when hover the mouse over the item and not have to hold a key down also. that way u can see the art and also see your sockets very quickly and not have worry about hitting a key bind to do so. this may sound trival to some but the less keys i have to fumble with the better for me.

Yay, minion notes!
And them actually trying to stick near you if they aren't skellies. And staying with you in general. And UI. Now I just need to determine when Tuesday NZ time is in EST.

So... from what ive understood R.I.P Necro Witch:/ oh well time to find another build, its rly sad bcoz this is the first game where i really felt powerful as a summoner hero with that little army around me, teleporting them with you is not enough to make up for such nerf... i see that some ppl say that there will be fewer but stronger minions where did you read that coz other then more hp to skeletons and faster spectres(O_O all two of them :O) i see only nerfs and if there wont be any rly good and big bonuses for them is skill tree this build will be a fail...

As for sockets i think its a bad idea i rather have easier information then see the same arts over and over again.

Mate you do raelise that this game is curretnly in beta; so you should try to rebuild your witch with those changes in mind - and than, after a while playing the new necro witch, please go to the Beta feedback forum and give feedback about the 'new' build. You can easily compare how the summoner worked before the patch and how ot does after it - pros and cons of the changes and how the 'general feel' of it changed -> this is the point of beeing a beta tester IMHO.

The beta is to get the balance right, NOT to never touch anything (i have to admit that i have no experience with summoners, but i have seen more than a few people saing that minions almost/do feel OP currently)
Proud 5th duelist in the Jul 1 2012 Ladder Race and in the Nov 3 2012 Solo Turbo Race :D
And even prouder 4th Templar in the Nov 10 Four-hour Party Hardcore Race :P
Current OB success:
top 20 Ranger in 105 Minute Turbo Solo (S4E9)
