Unique Item List - 300 of 419
Would the way that physical damage, armor and puncture interact be relevant, regarding piling all of your damage into one lucky hit? Since physical damage gets a lower damage reduction% the more it exceeds armor.
It seems like with Puncture, really fast attacks and this amulet, you could keep a puncture DoT going that's based off of a particularly massive crit. EDIT: Critical Weakness & Diamond Flask(s), Puncture + Increased Critical Multiplier + Faster Attacks + AoE enabler(?) + More damage (melee or projectile)???? If you double cursed with Crit. Weakness and Vulnerability it could really sting... Hexproof mobs throw it all in the trash though. EDIT2: Since it's apparently okay to give our critique of unique design here, I love the idea behind this. Less crits, but making those crits count. It's a gambler item with flavour text to match and that's brilliant. I'm just concerned that the drawback / benefit scale is too much one way or another, but I'd rather wait for the inevitable one-crit videos that show up with Dominus bleeding to death in his own rain. I feel bad for you Ocylix, you design a unique ($$$$) and it gets QQ'd to hell :(
I can see where this amulet would be OP with 300% crit modifier but it needs a different drawback besides "less crit" perhaps something like 200% reduced crit or your crits are unlucky or 60% less accuracy (accuracy is huge for crits) 60% less crit just completely annihilates any crit build, meaning only the most die hard crit stackers will barely obtain even 50% crit rate. The main problem with this is that in order to reach those levels of crit a build ALREADY has to make huge sacrifices... and the build usually relies on getting crits then all that goes down the drain when you put the amulet on since you sacrificed everything for barely any crit (50%) IGN: OldManBalls (Warbands)

" That sounds interesting :O Accuracy would be even worse than the "less crit" imo. Guild #YoloSwag <SWAG>

I would think that there are better builds than running ignite on incinerate. The reason why the burning damage is so high is because the skill attacks so fast and isn't advantageous to be used with burning.
It's true that burning is a mechanism which would allow the amulet to net increased damage though. Although you didn't state what your calculations are based off for your burning damage. With a maxed burning damage support gem and +80% burning damage from passives that would make 2.39x burning damage. presuming a maxed elemental weakness curse, it would reduce resistances by 49% from presumably something like 30% monster resist. Presuming that burning damage from ignite still double-evaluates resists, that would make for 19% more burning damage, for a total of 57% of initial damage dealt per second (or more if one went triple curse with flammability) .57*12.42 = 7.06 .57*10.26 = 5.84 .9*.25+.1*4.6*1.5*1.8= 1.47 +7.06 = 8.53 .9+.1*3.8*1.5*1.8= 1.926 +5.84 = 7.77 So while it's has a use, I have doubts that it's actually a use worth applying since getting to stage 4 with 2-3 curses just to deal decent damage with it seems like a big inconvenience. So this amulet is all about the DoT (adder's strike, puncture, ignite); don't know if it would be very desirable over just a regular crit amulet which would give more secondary benefits though. " i think after dot patch, fire and elemental nodes also affect burning damage: so on a "normal" tree (i.e. normal for me since i tinkered a bit to see if points were actually enough) on a 80lvl build i was at 54% fire damage and 41%elemental damage and 80%burning damage and 59% from burning support and 20% aoe add searing's 40%fire and 70%burning for a total of +364% increase. base damage for incinerate lvl 22 should be 228 and modifiers that i was getting from passives were 20elemental 54fire 20 elemental from spells 16spell damage. add another 40 and 50 from searing and you should have ~ 220% increase. so base damage becomes 729 crit multiplier was at 1242% so crit hit with incinerate should be around 9054 burn= 9054*0.2*4.64= 8402/sec the build had double curse also so 20/20 elem weakness + fire penetration gem should be maintained along with 20/20crit weakness. The one drawback imo for the build was that despite having 170something %health, it didn't have leech gem(or sybil's for that matter) so in REAL situations i don't know how it would fare, this is why i said a dot and run build... unfortunatly i work in a gift shop and it's christmas... so it will be some time till i get free time to build such a thing to test^^ edit: something like this

Well, this is a first for me. Finding a new unique less than a day after a patch. |

" Maybe he does not want to share it? ;-) " Congrats. :D Awesome uniques this patch! The amulet and all the rage about it (the positive/negative one altogether) is exciting to read. The hybrid armor is one wet dream. Last edited by Nightmare90#4217 on Dec 11, 2013, 5:35:24 PM

The Defiance chest is my favorite from this batch, Oro's sword is pretty beastly, but I think will end up being too expensive for commonfolk, so fuck that sword. The defiance chest on the other hand, so good, it is an actual item that you make your build around, and it's reasonably low level. Many kudos on the chest!!! If I get one, I'm surely gonna make a build with it.
The amulet...omg sorry Ocylix, but that thing sucks :(. Maybe I'm just too dumb to figure out, but I'm scratching my head trying to figure out a build that would actually BENEFIT AT ALL from that ammy...compared to not using an amulet at all. P.S. I'm assuming none of these are gated behind map walls..right...right?right!? Last edited by Melkrow#0726 on Dec 11, 2013, 5:53:30 PM
