yeah, incredible for phys wander or flicker strike shadow. Pain attunement, plus all those spell crit nodes...wow
also, this just happened:
plus
It specifies only spell damage, so spell crit will probably be left not effecting your attacks.
yeah, ur probably right. well, at least that 2% spell dmg per power charge isn't totally useless for physical wander / melee characters anymore.

I personally build my "attack builds" around armor - and also prefer to take defensive nodes over offensive. This for end game mapping survivability.
However - this mainly cause I solo.
When it comes to ES building with this using RF - you need shavronnes for that. Otherwise I dont see the point of investing tons of passives to spell damage over physical attack damage.
The "low" ES of shavronnes and this helmet combined would need you to have an Insane shield with tons of ES to justify the use of this combo.
Looks abit like someones been watching Etup's claw build stream in Onslaught.
Shavronnes Righeous fire sounds.... Like a horrible idea after 1.0.0?
Righteous fire eats 70% of your ES and 90% of your life per second. You can only reasonably stack regen in life OR ES. Did you not know they changed Righteous Fire? Or am i completely missing what your saying?
This prolly works with wand, that has nice physical damage and on top of that nice increased spell damage.
Once someone finds the 4th 1.0.1 unique, I'll add that too.
Also, here's the alternate artwork for a full Divination Distillate. If you look closely, you can see a cameo face in the orange liquid. Pretty badass.
Easier to see in the split image:
That looks awesome. Glad to see them using more cameo work in the uniques, the new Season 5 alt artwork is gorgeous.
Edit: Seems bad ass for Ek lol. Maybe even trappers.
Is that increased damage local to the weapons damage, or does it effect everything? That's the difference inbetween GG item and not GG item.
A scion may be born of the rich, and as such hold more opportunity...
but a scion will never be able to appreciate the finer beauty of those less fortunate.

The change to Righteous Fire causes it to burn a "pure" ES character at roughly the rate it burns a "pure" health character. It does not make itcompletely non-usable, just much more niche and requiring more focus on sustaining Es thyan simply getting 1% regen and being done with it (yes I'm aware prepatch it did require more than 1% regen but not that much more).
By using Ruby Flasks + Purity for Fire + Elemental Adaptation + Phoenix you can reduce damage to less than 10% of your ES in a low life build (90% of life is still only like 20% of your ES, ergo you're burning for "90%" of your Es with righteous fire). This is more burn than previously, but it's not unmanageable.
It DOES NOT burn the two at the same time, the "life burn" does not bypass ES.
@Epicly: Wording inclines me to believe global. Does not specify "weapon" or "spell".

Some interesting discussion and ideas from people. It will be very interesting to follow what this all leads up to as the item seemingly has quite many possibilities and the defensive/offensive power is hard to gauge thoroughly from just looking at it.
And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.

Okay, i wasnt missing the point, not completely anyways. Your going to be taking 10~7% of your ES per second though, and all the ES nodes are not mixed with the regen nodes, unlike the life nodes. That was my line of thinking at any rate.
If you want to do Shavronne's RF i think your going to be forced to use Shavronne's ring/Blood Dance/Both, even more so because getting HP will actually be actively detrimental to you, and every regen node is either way too far out of your way, or mixed with HP nodes.
Possible, but difficult, certainly more difficult then the current state of life based RF. Though, the actual burn part of the RF may do more damage this way. (I dont quite remember how hard they nerfed CI/ How it compares to life now-a-days. I havent played a ES character in ages, Mostly because im a fan of Eldrich battery.)
E : I almost thought i derped when i remembered Spring leaf, But then you'd lose a bunch of fire res and be screwed anyways.

Well...
75% base, 3% from purity of fire, 2% from adaptation, 8% from phoenix, you're looking at 88% damage reduction, with an as close to 100% uptime as possible of Ruby Flasks (use two and make them crit-friendly?) you're at 98% fire resistance.
Now getting Es with Shav's and Phoenix might be a bit of an issue. But you can get the resists to be basically fire immune. Probably combine with something that deals considerable fire damage, possibly AoF+Infernal Blow but that's an entirely different point of interest. Note that is just to trivialize reflected damage.
